SHAPE SHIFTING SOUL

SHAPE SHIFTING SOUL

Today I shall be as an angel
Or as many may just imagine
A kind of shape shifting soul
Committed to a worthy role
Sometimes the stuff of legend
Visiting Earth to arrange all

But tomorrow I shall be free
To explore in another guise
Such that none may be sure
An identity to hate or adore
A predicament for the wise
Yet so few might know me

I could assume so many forms
And I might laugh or even cry
I’m the man behind the curtain
None may ever be so certain
But never look me in the eye
My stare that chills or warms
