The hole

The hole
The hole I feel every year
Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
Celebration for your off spring
The hole that no one can take
Each year the hole grows
I want to call you up on the phone
Tell you about all the things
You believe I would never do
After all I was created by you!
Each yeah the hole grows
As I watch marriages grow
Knowing you will never give me away,
Oh wait, you did already, for your personal gain
Alcohol, laughs and even jokes
While your daughter had to encounter the strokes.
Not the way I dream of to be given to a man at just 9 years old.
Each year the hole grows
Wanting to be seen and heard
And be told I’m so proud of you
Only to be nothing more than the dirt on your shoes
Instead your voices play over within my head
“You will amount to nothing”
“You tell and I find out, I’ll make it so you can’t speak”
The hole that grows
And the pain that seeps
With every mother and father love story
I just want to rip off my ears
The hole grows
Each day, sucking the life away
While I wonder on earth as a stray
Unwanted and disregarded
Forever parted
The hole grows
