Breaking a Heart
We all lie.
He just lied a little more
He pushed me somewhere deep inside
He said things that left me sore
My mind knew he wasn't the right one
But my heart didn't want to listen
He wanted me to laugh and smile
And yet let tears burn my vision
It isn't that he didn't love me less
Giving more than i could give
It's just that he caged my wings in caress
And i wanted my freedom to live
To say it was all me and none of him
Is so very wrong,
Because even if i didn't love as much he did,
My love surely was strong
It hurts me more than I am ready to show
But it was necessary to let it all go
And maybe tomorrow I will learn to live with the pain
Of breaking a heart I had done so much to gain.
