Still Water

There is a container of water on the table A visual on my movement whilst still Just a breath or an elbows tilt Causes shivers and shifts It responds in shock if I remove contact After a moment it would settle But I'm here for the day My stillness revealed as false Amplified are my shivers and shocks Walking off would settle it But I'm here for the day

Thanks Kate, I mostly write just in real time with whatever is in scope at that moment - when it's more emotive than the water container it always fascinates me what can be captured in words in real time that often can't be recalled by the memory shortly after an event. Poetry is all sorts of interesting in that way. Thank you for your comment, appreciated

This is another imaginative poem with a spoonful of fantasy. I enjoy the image of the water in motion.

Thanks Hilda - not exactly the stuff of scintillating conversation but makes for an interesting quick poem and it fascinated me momentarily :)

I think of Jainism, a small branch of Hinduism that concentrates on not destroying any bit of nature, cloistered, they believe that even one breath changes the dynamics! Sweet of you to recognize the violation of still water. ;)

Nice to see you Anaya :) it was quite hypnotic watching the impact of such small movements. I'd definitely step over a snail and save a stranded worm but not sure I could maintain the high standard of the Jain Monks :)
