River's Song

“I shall be like a tree planted in the river….” Psalm 1:3 River’s song Amidst the waters flowing free, Branches reaching, strong and tall, Content, serene, forever free, Drinking deep, standing proud and sure. Earthly roots beneath me spread, Firmly grounded, firmly held, Growing with the river’s thread, Holding fast, in peace I dwell. In the stillness, in the storm, Journeying with nature’s flow, Knitted to the river’s form, Lifelong grace in ebb and flow. Majestic in my silent sway, Nourished by the river’s kiss, Open to the light of day, Patient, rooted full of bliss, Quiet strength, my branches sway, Riverside, my chosen way, Standing firm, come what may, Tall and proud, in each new day. Underneath the azure sky, Vibrant life in quiet repose, With every breeze, a gentle sigh, Xanadu where nature grows. Yearning not for worldly fame, Zealous in my steady aim.
