Thank You, Lord

by

It was freezing cold outside. Below freezing with cold icy rain that covered the steps and iced over the roads. No going anywhere on this cold night of winter.

Living in a trailer makes it drafty and cold for anyone to keep warm. I'll put up plastic around the windows so, when the wind howls I won't feel it as much on this extremely cold night. I could turn on the oven to warn things up a bit.

I need to make sure to let the faucets drip so, the pipes do not freeze tonight. I hear it sometimes works and keeps them open until the weather turns off a little warmer. We can try it and it just might work.

It's just you and me tonight, Lord. How about we spend some time together. It can be rough when you live alone. It's a special night and I do not need to fret but be as comfortable as I can and snuggle into the Word of God. Jesus, says He promises me that “He will never leave me or forsake me”. I could use Your company tonight, Lord. Stay close beside me during this time of isolation. (Hebrews 13:5) KJV

He promises “to heal the broken heart and bind up their wounds”. It's a little like being left alone to be refreshed in His Word. The Holy Spirit is my comforter and helps me to realize that “I can do all things through Christ Jesus”. Sometimes that's to face my fears of being alone. “There is a time and a season for everything”. Through the seasons or even the weather. (Isaiah 61:1) (Luke 4:18) (Philippians 4:13) (Ecclesiastes 3:1) KJV

I seem to complain about the weather without thinking of how it sounds to others. It does not glorify Christ and I am simply complaining to God for the way He is handling things that are in His control. Forgive me Lord when I become dissatisfied with everyday life. Everyone seems to complain about the weather. Never happy or content with what comes around the bend. Help me to remember to be thankful for what I do have. “Godliness with contentment is great gain”. (I Timothy 6:6) KJV

Thank you, for a roof over my head to keep me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Thank you, for the food on the table that You have given for me to nourish my body. Thank you, for my health and how you have helped me time and time again. Thank you, for all the ones who are there when I am in need. Thank you, for the freezing rain that kills off all the germs in the air and keeps things brisk and alive. Thank you, Lord, even for the faucet that can drip that gives me water to drink. A faucet that drips sometimes can be very annoying when your trying to sleep but I trust You Lord for all my needs and even when I am alone, I am never alone. Thank you, Lord. (Ephesians 5:20)
