Meeting A Friend After Lunch

Nathan Detroit’s promotional motor was running while he was enjoying the show downing a bourbon and a steak. Watching the talented rehearsal of Mutasaabeq seemed like a justified reward for the businessperson who spent many an hour building the creative character. Heading out into the street he decided to celebrate the promising viewing by visiting his friend Juddmonte Spinster.

Before hitting the sidewalk, another patron bumped into Nathan, “So, where are you off to Mr. Nathan?” He asked.

“Off to enjoy some time with Juddmonte, you know the local spinster.”

“Oh yeah,” Fayette agreed, “she dares the devil staying young and traveling the positive road.”

“Well she is my valiance,” Nathan told him as they parted ways.

It only took him a few blocks to walk and when reaching the spinster’s home office, he knocked using a fist.

“Juddmonte, how are you doing this good day?” He asked the workaholic who never took time off for love.

“I have a new client,” she told Nathan while designing a professional spin, “Ollies candy, owner is from the north and is marketing this sweet product.”

“Really,” Nathan replied feeling the after-effects from the collation cuisine, “well I have a winner too, Mutasaabeq.”

“A winner, huh, doing what?”

“His Saintly duties,” Nathan continued the response, “coming out of nowhere at the right time and creating enough excitement to make an afternoon delight.”

“I assume he,” Juddmonte paused, “is a wonderful performer.”

“Money maker,” Nathan added, and it was then the spinster noticed the problem that needed confrontation.

“Nathan I can feel your spirit in this new find but Mutasaabeq has only been around for two years,” Juddmonte projected a soothing voice, “what type of sauce accompanied the lunch meat?”

“Worcestershire, why?”

“Of course,” Juddmonte calmly stated, “since I am now going to spend time as the local spinster with Ollies Candy, I need someone to handle the Abarta account.”

For the next few weeks Nathan dined with soda pop and took advantage of the free refills saving a couple of dollars during each feeding session. Not only was the extra income welcome but it was when opening the newspaper to read a review from a stingy stage critic did he encounter pleasant sobering thoughts.

Mutasaabeq is a wonderful young talent whose midday experience can be enjoyed fondly over the tender cooked steaks at Carsons Food and Drink,” accounted the reporter.

Sitting back in the chair Nathan remembering the writer coming while he was in good spirits due to the first check from Abarta arriving in the mail

“A little good spin for someone can turn things around,” Nathan thought to himself once again feeling successful.
