People find it easier coping in the world by making generalizations. In that case, we depend often on our prejudices, and when it comes to race, it a high probability to work.
Why, you may ask? Because of culture. A nation state controls and cultures their people, and when one of those people visit other cultures, the resident of those people create generalizations or biases towards the visiting people.
The reason why racism becomes at fault is because the world is diverse now, people from different countries occupy different soil this days and when one creates a generalization on a person's skin, they are now often mistaken on their prejudice because they don't know that the person they are actually generalizing was not cultured by their nationality but by other places

every human being is unique and that's one of the beauties of this world. Personally, I don't care about race, I just care about who that person is, whether he/she is Indian, African, Japanese or whatever...I guess most of the people tend to reject others that are different. But different is actually something good, a change for society and we should all embrace those who are not just 'another face in a crowd'.

Ignoring race is foolish. Race is always going to be there, and being blind of race is to say that not every race is worth remembering. To claim that you're blind to race is a lie.
There's a huge difference between racism and acknowledging race.

i can only speak from experience that when one race is singled out and "slaughtered" that race has to band together to take down the gruesome giants and monsters of madness causing them grief.as a white man thrown into a black mans world it's hard not to be racist.however the older i get the wiser i become.in john 7:24 it says not to judge according to appearances but judge spirits.and that is much better than throwing a polluted blanket over an entire race in an effort to set off a genocidal gore fest

I have a lot of answers that get more and more complicated about "the Generalized Other" and "Projection of Internal Conflict" and such that have truth in them, but the simple Truth with a capital T I believe, is because they are taught to. When my little sister was 3> years of age she had a best friend that was black (and she/ we were not). This was before that was more common and others didn't like it, and were cruel to these two babies. My sister when she was about 5 asked for an explaination, and why people were so mean to Marylyn, her friend. Thinking it was identical to the ? you posed, we tried to explain people's ignorance to a 5 year old. But we quickly realized that she did not comprehend at all what we were talking about! "What do you mean she's 'black'? She was literally actually color blind! She got more and more hysterical as we tried to explain this as a difference, and thought we were all crazy and mean to her.... Which in a way we were, though trying to help, because though being as 'colorblind' as we could we still had the concept, and unlike her were not Innocents.
