I just joined Poetry Soup yesterday, and have been made to feel very welcome. I found PS because I was doing a search on the dodoitsu poetry form. I found a lot of information and decided to jump in. I've posted haiku, dodoitsu and tanka poems (at least I hope I got close.)

I've been writing for years - essays, prose, poetry. That writing was never more than a hobby, though. I always had to work around my work schedule. I'm retired now, though, so I'm spending a lot of time writing - and enjoying it thoroughly. I also do digital art, and I just like playing around with joining up the two technologies.

I'm a retired technical writer. I definitely am retired, but it was not by choice. However, I've finally accepted the reality of the situation (like I'm probably at poverty level) and am trying to embrace my creative side. I've gone back to college, and that has yielded some interesting and welcoming opportunities.
