What to Submit?
1 original poem, new or old, on the theme of "THE POET'S EAR" ... this one is pretty self-explanatory, and about the connection we have, as poets, to MUSIC, and in this case, a specific song that you love, hate, or has affected you in some way. I believe music is a language all its own, and that it has an extraordinary affect on our culture and lives as individuals ...
Please write/submit a new/old poem of yours that is either: 1) INSPIRED by or ABOUT a favorite song: 2) Written as a LYRIC with a SPECIFIC song in mind, either an instrumental that you wrote words to, or an existing song that you wrote your OWN lyrics for, or: 3) How a specific song has affected your life in some way, good or bad ...
At the bottom please include the date written, the name of the song that your poem is about or inspired by, (and version, if you like - not necessary), and the name of the contest. Please don't use a song that's too obscure or difficult to find, as I plan to listen to the song while reading your poem ...
You can also post the song with your poem, if you like ... that would make things much easier on my end, but is also not necessary, as long as it's a recording that's easy to find on the nternet. Any form is acceptable, and there are NO limits to length OR genre, as I believe that sometimes limits creativity ...
Please feel free to post art work or photos, if you feel that would help convey the emotion of the song, and any notes as to why you chose that song, if you like, (also not required). I am someone who enjoys ALL genres and styles, within PS posting rules, so please submit whatever you wish ...
Thank you SO much - I look forward to your submissions!
