Contest Description

What to Submit?

Katuata is a type of romantic Japanese verse based on natural instincts. The TWO strophes required for this contest will consist of three non-rhyming lines each, and both will follow a specific syllable count of; 5-7-7, 5-7-7. A katuata is a lover's query or an emotive statement that bears a response on the last line, either in part or, entirely.

Use the Haiku form for your TWO katuata's.

Each will have a romantic theme.

The title (a required PS standard as katuata's are untitled) and the verse should be lowercased, including the first word starting a sentence or sentences within the context, capitalizing when needed.

The question mark of your katuata's, (?), is the only punctuation required.

Use either HMS or, PS syllable counters
