Contest Description
What to Submit?
1. 1 original, poem on the theme of A Nature Scene. Although another story can be entwined the nature scene should receive equal or greater focus.
2. Your rhyme is Abab cdcd efef aA in three quatrains and a final couplet with the final line repeating the opening line. Write in IP(do your best).
3. For an example please read my poem "Green Hills", posted 10/22/18.
4. I didn't start out to write the poem this way, that's just how it ended up. In the end however I like the closure it brought to the story. It's really a bastardized English Sonnet which I'm calling an Orphan Sonnet. That sounds nicer than "bastard" or "mutant"(though they would sound funny). I haven't yet found the form already existing, at least not on Shadow Poetry.
5. No Fancy Fonts. Let your poetry do all the talking.
6. I'm looking for fresh images and descriptions. Avoid cliches. And I love clever color usage.
7. No Names.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what poets will do with this form. HAVE FUN!
