FIRST DATE
our tables separated by two inches
he says: “I think a married couple should each have their own rooms”
she nervously sips her shy martini, not knowing what to say
“that’ll never work” blurts out the old lady at a neighboring table
a stranger has upset the balance of his plan
he quickly skips out from his doom
next time he’ll find a dirty corner
to spin his web
where no wisdom will be spent on his much
younger date
