Contest Description

What to Submit?

In this contest I will give you two options -

1.  Write a NEW Ghazal or Grook as described in the forms on this site,  dated.

The description on forms here is very hard to understand, so here is an example:

I Do Not Know

Who cares about the stranger at the gate, I do not know,

The poor orphan abandoned to her fate, I do not know.

Where once I had the answers now my mind is full of doubt,

How do these certainies depreciate, I do not know

From noon till night our ardent looks scandalize the town,

Why is it that your eyes are filled with hate, I do not know.

etc etc, as many couplets as you want

__________

So the internal rhyming words, the qadia-  are gate, hate, depreciate, hate, must rhyme... in this example,    the internal rhyme qadia are on the 1st, 2nd line, and every 2nd line after that

And  notice the repeating phrase or it could be a word on the 1st line, 2nd line and every 2nd line after that..this is the radif

NOW the last line is suppose to include your name but because this site does not allow names on contest

poems, lets not do that for this contest.  I don't want us to get in trouble.

OR

2.  GIVE me an NA poem from a contest judged recently . . .

the name of the contest where you got the NA noted at the bottom and the date judged.

No names or initials

Any theme

Must follow the rules of the form selected.

Audio and images accepted
