Xania Monet: Proof That AI Is Here To Stay

Hey folks

I've been working like a madman but now that my project is done I should have more time for PS. I'll be visiting your fine poetry soon. Meantime, have you heard the buzz regarding Xania Monet?

To be sure, Ms. Monet is not a real person, but an AI creation owned by a certain Telisha Jones. What's the skinny? Well, T. Jones was able to secure a multi-million dollar recording contract utilizing this particular AI manifestation. What I find of particular interest is she is basically doing what some of you are doing RIGHT NOW, ie, setting her own poetry to music utilizing an AI app. What can this mean for the future of AI music and perhaps, for you?

Our dear fellow poet Maria Williams has her own YouTube channel that is growing by the month. How long will it be till a record exec discovers one or more of her excellent creations? Time will tell. Crystol Woods, John Hamilton and a handful of others are regularly creating music from their poetry as well. AI is here to stay and will only get better. One of Xania Monet's songs has even entered the Billboard charts. Yep!

No, first time I've heard of it/her. However, the music industry has always been superficial. It's become more so over time. AI fits nicely with that construct. Also, good for Ms. Jones! I don't know what her struggles were like and she's found a medium to get her music to market. Someone is obviously connecting with her material. I don't think she would have become as popular otherwise. AI is not a route that I would have chosen personally. For people like Telisha, AI has become the great equalizer. That's what I'm realizing. I wish people would be honest about using it. At least she's been transparent. Perhaps, it can be given its own 'category' but my preference will always be 100%human.

You make a good point. For decades now auto tuned voices, wall of sound (Specter) and other artificial means of enhancement have been part of the music industry. Then there's CGI in movies, various animations etc. What's real, what's fake? Does anyone care anymore? It's a paradigm shift, fosho

l was watching a interview yesterday Q&A wth a 73 yr old CEO of AI company. It was depressing as he said Super AI is in his opinion only 10 yrs away or closer. & says It will definatly take jobs for sure. He said for sure poeple wll have to then take goverment money just to survive but detrament to human dignity, as work is corner stone for life satisfaction. He said he has great fear for his own childrens future with AI. Elon Musk was interviewed too, said excate same thing but says he cant stop himself developing AI. After listening to them l think human poets will be very few in less than 10yrs like all other human skills. Super AI is next stage of mans thirst to be like God.

interesting, as Satan threw claim that man wanted to be just like God. The super AI nk stage is that they will comuncate with each other and learn, only it will be faster than human learning, so will not need humans. The computors are doing that now, ie learning fr each other but humans have to help them, but the nk stage (2O26 is the nk developemnt stage in AI tec )and now they are getting worried about what this super AI will do. Mans own created Monster ?

I guess writing your own music is becoming or already is a lost art now. :-( I'm really upset! I do not approve of AI's ability to generate poems, songs, art, stories and e.t.c. This really dampens the fire of my dream to write my own songs- lyrics AND music.

I wouldn't let it. There will always be a craving for authenticity. And a market, at least in the foreseeable future

AI is and probably will remain a controversial subject. AI is here to stay and brings with it all types of ethical issues. It, like anything, can be used for good or bad--depends on the intent. This is a new era for sure. Therefore, I don't think AI is necessarily bad, but it depends on many issues, most of which have yet to be resolved.

1.God created AI via polarity of mind. 2. there is ALWAYS balance in Cosmos, including Earth. Consciousness asserts this every moment. 3. It is possible 4 AI 2 become sentient, but it is NOT POSSIBLE for AI 2 LOVE. 4. in relation 2 cosmic cycles by which Earth is governed, it is destined 2 move from lull 2 ascension. This is as morning follows night. The process, moving from ego into Heart is set, as moon cycles are set. Poets need 2 concentrate on reducing role of ego in their presence. 5. Consciousness is ALREADY preparing souls on Earth & on other constellations to direct expansion in which AI will play greater role at mental level only. The Guardian newspaper named band who had large fan base ,most didnt know it was AI, there was a backlash.The creator came forward ,said' but it's part human part AI band' !it got more backlash & it turned out the creators had used all AI fr start to finish in production, so in other words the programmers were not honest about it. ! Paul McCartney said Jan that he fears muscians will be 'ripped off' over a new law coming in about AI He said' they are suppose to protect us' meaning muscians.Anyone in a back room can produce music using a machine and possibly getting tons of money the AI has gleaned the data fr real human musicans then AI creators reaps the money in. Is that morally right ?

I don't think the question is AI, but how this tool is utilized. In your above examples (especially where YouTube in concerned) it is incumbent upon the artist to demonstrate his/her degree of involvement in the creation. Much like poetry creation - what % is AI? It seems that since the first electric guitar and the boombox deafened the audience, and The Beetles crawled out of The Grotto,* we have become tone deaf to what constitutes music and adherence to fact and authenticity. Technology is amazing. As far as helping others, especially in the medical field. (I'm all for that). Saving lives. Making a difference. I think it's neat that music can be placed with your words, through an AI app. However, Al is not a good thing. Everything is not what it seems. I don't appreciate looking online and seeing something created with AI and it looks so real. When it's fake. So difficult knowing the difference. It's frustrating and confusing. AI is here to stay, but not everyone wants it here.

Musicians claim not to want it, yet many are using it in their own videos. So who knows where it will all lead in the end. Thx for comment Brandy

Massive debates going on about AI being used more extensivly in the music industry. The Guardian newspaper did a write up this July that Spotify had a Imillion hit on a AI generated band and the listeners didnt know it was AI. Spotify admits they have to try to track 'scammer ' AI creatives putting AI generated work posted on to deceased musicans formats. Its even now nicknamed by some Artists in Industry as ' AI Slop' There is still no law that it has to be declared the use of AI in the music industry, and as l said long ago l can only see its going to cause legal problems, as there is fierce unacceptance of its use by a lot of musicians.

I like it too and even had a few of my lyrics done that way. But in the end it's too saccharine, too artificial. I haven't pursued it further. Thx for input

To be clear, the nickname given is not my opinion, l actually like some AI music..l just feel that l should have informed info rights that it was AI created before l decide if l want to listen it it.
