Dear Soupers,
I'm overwhelmed and humbled by the outstanding response to the contest. The number of entries was increased from 35 to 40, which has filled up fast. We could go on, I suppose but then life too must continue.
My soul is uplifted!
I readily confess that I had to seek assistance to understand the hidden or implied import of the written words on a few occasions. The shift, attempting to see from the poet's eyes, to feel from the poet's heart, is undoubtedly coloured by the reader's life experience, thus prone to err.
I did notice this time that some poet's hesitate to participate in contests. Undoubtedly, the reasons are personal. However, dear friends, I'd urge you all to consider sharing the fragrance of your inspirations, deeming contests to be mere play! In most cases, at least in mine, the sponsor's poetic caliber is less than your own! (shhh ... one or two seemingly great poems, I couldn't understand at all!)
