Many people, even poets and writers themselves, wonder where the gift of poetry stems from or where it began in their life. One can state when they began writing but never when or where they suddenly became to know how easily the art of expression begun to rise within them. It is one of those mysteries that grasp even the minds of non-writers, I, for one, do not know when it sprouted, maybe it's stored in my genes, who knows?
I was 13 when I started writing but that is only a specific time when my hand begun to place the ability on to paper like an act of fertilization. Some who read this blog may think it is complete waffle and holds no truth, but I believe my ability for writing is written in my genes awaiting activation. Anyone can write if they allow their imaginations to run wild but most people lose a lot of it because of adulthood; the child within them has been masked by maturity.
My writing may not be liked by everyone for each of us has certain tastes and interests but like everything else with age comes change and something once hated or disliked may suddenly become a love or a certain attraction towards a particular form of writing; however, this concept involves everything in life especially when it comes to food; a certain kind of food might have been loathed in childhood but liked in adulthood.
So, the mystery of poetry may never be solved then yet why should one dive so deeply into something that is made up of mystery and expression?
