Memories

I was just looking for a letter for my doctor's appointment with Dr. Roberts (who is evil because he seemed to enjoy poking me with a needle even I told him I could feel it!), who is a Neurologist; my epilepsy is going to be reviewed... again. It will be the same old barage; him acting sales-man trying to get me to act the ginea pig yet again which he thinks I don't know; it is strange how doctors treat me as though I am stupid. Anyway, during my hunt for this "misplaced" letter I came along to a plastic folder full of paper, but it wasn't just paper at all, it was all the letters I had received when I was a kid from my friends in school, there were even a love letter or two from my ex-boyfriends, adorned with rose petals and kisses.

It made me smile finding something I thought was long gone, it actually surprised me that I still had them all; it was like finding some sort of treasure. I sat in my room reading every single one, it brought back many memories. You may laugh but tears were shed when I read the love letters, mostly because the things they wrote were rather cheesy but still romantic in their own way. After all these years locked away somewhere I never even thought of looking the paper still smelled of their aftershave.

Memories are precious and I was lucky to be given the chance to relive some of mine tonight and that is something that is rare these days. Memories are always created but sometimes they can be put so far at the back of your mind they seem forgotten until a word, a smell or even a song brings them back.
