Why Writing It Is Better Than Saying It - Nikki Reynolds's Blog

For many years I have enjoyed writing poetry, my thoughts and opinions and even short stories from time to time. For me it's a great way to relieve stress. It's much easier for me to express myself through written words. The words don't always come out like you intend them to when speaking. That goes double for me. There are some huge benefits to writing. One being you think before releasing your words for others to see. You're still honest but are sometimes seen in a better light because you don't just blirt out the first thing that comes to mind or state your opinion in quite the same manner. Sometimes I lack a much needed filter so I tend to put many of my thoughts into written words. It works out better for me that way. Revision is a wonderful thing.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the time i've spent on this site reading the poetry of others and sharing my words. I'm still learning the site and trying to get used to my new laptop. I am far from computer savvy. I hope to publish a book of poetry in the future. I'm here to learn as much as I can from others and enjoy the great reads on PoetrySoup. There's a lot of talent here. I hope you will all read some of my work and tell me what you think about it. I would appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.
