Henry Bergson the French philosopher 1859-1941,said ' the painter's intellect dissolves the existence of objects and lends them a new unity'
Perhaps poetry is analogous to this and we can paraphrase the note to 'the poet's intellect dissolves the experience of living and lends it a new dimension'...as we filter life through the sieve of our unique persona.
