SHOULD BURGLARS BE SHOT AT DAWN

After being burgled a couple of times , I can testify to the depth of hatred I felt when I came home from work to find my home had been ransacked  , Hatred is a concept foreign to me because I have never hated anyone , Man nor beast,

It wasn't what the burglar took because I am insured and the things stolen were replaced, I think it was the simple fact that a stranger had been in my home 

Home is our sanctuary , The place we should feel safe

Now , Much to my own annoyance , I find myself thinking of a fellow human being as vermin , A rat to be terminated 

Our religious leaders quote word and verse from the bible about forgiveness and of course we should strive to forgive but it is damned hard

hey, I work cheap--for you lol Let the parasites walk into my Sig .40, and your break in days will be over. And if I shoot em while in your home, it's entirely legal. You have the right to protect your life and belongings. Give me a ring, Jan, I'd luv to cap a burglar :) It would make my day lol Peace and blessings...Mel :)

Nobody should be in anybody's home, unless invited. The alternative, is face the consequences, oh burglar person, end off!

My own feeling, why wait until dawn? You'll find little justice in the judicial system. I am a big fan of the "stand your ground" laws. If they are found in your home at night. The coroner should find them in your home in the morning.

Get a dog that will bark loudly and sound big... The dog doesn't have to be viscious... Or put in good camaras to turn on when you leave... Identify the person... It's probably the same people... Remember 5% do 95% of the bad things in life... There's always hope and usually kindness from most of the 95%... It's usually someone close by who knows when you're gone... Leave on a radio to fool them or watch for someone parked near by casing the houses. I just caught two people doing break ins on my street. They were well fed teenagers... They went to jail for over 6 burgularies that I know of...

Got two now Carol and they will bite , I also have cctv , The law requires me to warn would be burglars of that .

Daz, it is the deterioration of society. This blog comes right after I saw a talk show discussing teens and various sexcapades in high schools (nothing like what I ever heard about before) and I just can't help but think how horrible things are getting all over the world. You are so right. HOme is our only real sanctuary and can you imagine the horror of those who wake to find themselves victims of eventual rape and/or murder? How can the family of these victims find forgiveness in their hearts? It's a truly difficult thing. So you were robbed again just the other night? Geeeez.

The first guy who burgled my home asked for over 30 burglaries to be taken into consideration . He only did it to fund his drug taking , All that tosh was believed by the judge and the guy got 3 months , Out in 6 weeks I believe .

Oh Daz this is a heartbreaking theme. I worked in insurance for quite a few years - material things can be replaced but once your sanctuary has been violated that must be so hard to live with and I can understand anyone wanting to leave what was their dream home. It's incredible the things these low lives steal and its the damage they do to the property which can be a constant reminder. The crime rate is low here but it does still happen and when it does its a newsworthy event. Hugs as ever jan xxxx

Speaking as someone who has been burgled in the past, and been very lucky not to have come home to a ransacked place, I don't agree with 'shooting at dawn' I think that the hands of judges and courts are tied too tight by government and european restrictions. A life sentence for murder in UK is 8 years, a burglar steal your life and soul....

Trouble is David , The burglars tend not to fear prison . If the powers that be could address that , We might make some progress .
