Baby steps

My first blog on this (or any) site...be proud...or afraid.

I just want to say a quick thank you to my poet friends here who have supported me and read my work, commented in meaningful ways (cut-and-pasters take note), and inspired me time and time again.  I am constantly amazed by what I read here.

I am in the process of experimenting with different forms.  I feel like I've been so tied to the sonnet (Italian Sonnets are my favorite) and need to branch out.  I've just recently tried some for the first time...it's always fascinating how my thoughts take on such a different spin when expressed in different forms.  Each form seems to take on a life of its own and catch a different angle of the emotion.

Well, you know i love your work, you challenge me to be a better poet, as do so many here at teh soup - i love that! I totally know what you mean about different forms bringing out a new glint on the world, how cool is that. That's why i, too have been branching out...it's fun to see what is born with a new mother. anyway, I also think you are a shining gem here, and love reading you.
