Publishing Q&A

Publishing us something most authors want to happen to them. And a lot of people have questions about how to go about publishing. So I decided to create this blog post to induce something along the lines of an internet thread. I have a few questions myself to start out:
  • Who publishes the most poetry?
  • Should I self-publish?
  • How should I send a poetry manuscript?
  • Is poetry even worth it to publish a physical book?
  • If I decide to self-publish, whereabouts should I do that?

        If you have any questions please post them before. PLEASE POST ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE A WELL ENOUGH AMOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE BACKING YOU UP.

Chris if you want to learn and grow as a poet there are a million things you can do, actually TOO MANY, you have to leave time daily to WRITE and that's actually very hard to do if you are trying to market yourself! Here is a nice article out of the UK with info I didn't know! Having a book of your work is a great accomplishment (published, self-published). I self-published my own book back in mid-2011 and it was incredible! But, most importantly, some of my work was now in this nice book that the world (or at least some of my family) can read anytime without looking at a computer screen. For you, I would self-publish first. Yes, there's more involved. But, you're in control. You learn all the ropes and then decide if you wanna go further with it or not. A good starting point for self-publishing: Createspace (owned by Amazon). That's where I'm at. Cheers to you & good luck on things! The most important rule with this: Finish what you start!
