Favorite quotes contests and new contest

  Lately it seems that everyone is having contests containing a person's favorite quote.  I really enjoy these contests, because I am a counselor and use eye-opening quotes all the time, so people will open up their minds and think deeper or beyond just what they are seeing.  A couple of quotes I use in session are, to gain a person's trust I say: If you open your mind for me, you won't rely on open eyes to see.  Another I use is when a person is facing an obstacle: Nothing in this world worth having comes easy.  These two are pretty solid and get my point across.  Sometimes I make up my own quotes, but most good ones have been said already by decently smart people like Ghandi or Billy Shakespeare.  But one place I love to get quotes from is in music lyrics.  Music is the gateway from one generation to the next and its these quotes that make this possible.  So what I am going to do is make up a new contest using music quotes.  I know I have already done something similar, but this one will be deeper.  The past contest used multiple quotes and this time it is only one quote and your favorite quote of all time from a song.  To give you an idea of what I am going to say, my favorite song quote is from the band Pearl Jam and the song is called Black.  The quote is: "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be the sun, in somebody else's sky, but why, why, why can't it be, ohh can't it mine, ohhh why?"  To me this is deep and very moving. So in my contest you will write a maximum of 15 lines, not including your quote, that describes what message is being conveyed to the listener and why it is your favorite quote and how it affects you.  For more details see the contest page (posting soon).  Hope you enjoyed my thoughts and hope you join the contest.  Good luck to all.  And to everyone, have a great and safe week and weekend and don't forget to just be happy.  ~Chris Matt
