Silent Night

I get tired
of the sleepless nights
when the phone in my
head won’t stop
ringing like a
London trolley
 
I see my day repeating
back and forth
back and forth
over and over
and over again
 
it’s a broken record of time
 
some-times I skip
and miss a minute
only to have it recalled
in the silent movie
that terrorizes
my waking hours
 
then the wine seems warmer
and calls me on the P.A.
to muster
in the kitchen
to partake in the chilling
shuffle across the
tiled floor
 
I am hounded by artificial
light
seen through clouded eyes
between the darkness
of the forest reality
which exists outside
wooden walls
which trap me in
the savageness of
silent sleepless solitude
 
only to be reminded of living
by the tolling of the trolley
bell

oddly enough i think about fabric. it sounds odd but it's simple and slows my mind down enough that i can fall asleep. start with a thread and picture it weaving itself into cloth. it works. ps. i love you, my former hetero life-mate

SUE GAVE SOME GOOD ADVICE HERE ALSO YOU MAY WANT TO SIP ON A HOT COCO makes my kid fall right to sleep hope this helps and remember never to eat pizza before bedtime causes major nighmares lol good luch even try a hot shower to relax mind and body or just lay on floor and have Tv on great blog keep up the great work blessings

About half an hour before going to bed, eat a tablespoon of honey. Good honey, as "natural" as you can find. If you want add some kind of soft elevator music ... smile as you lay down and beginning with your feet, try and relax every muscle up through to you eyes ... really focus in on relaxing every part of your body. If you're not asleep within an hour, take another tablespoon of honey and repeat the process. It works.

They say drinking beer doesn't help you sleep but it sure makes staying awake more fun. Usually, I'll push it until I can't move then crash early the next night. Sleeping pills don't cut it and most of the time your butt is dragging the next day. Best bet is only water in the last 4 or 5 hours and some relaxation. Have a great one. Vince
