What's Your Favorite Music?

Okay y'all...got a real doozy here...what's your favorite type music?...Or even your favorite song?...I'm a hopeless music junkie and I love it all...R&B, Country, Jazz, Classical, Rock & Roll, Rock, Alternative...you name it!...Good music is good music, no matter what style...My particular favorite is what they call 'Beach Music' (Carolina Beach music)...Originated in Myrtle Beach in the early 60's as a substitute for the Jitterbug...very hard to Jitterbug in the sand, thus a dance called 'The Shag' came to be...A slowed down type shuffle done mostly to old R&B which had the correct rhythm and beat...much like the Cha-Cha-Cha or similar dances...Very intricate, delicate and artistic moves involved...The best Shaggers were 'steady' couples who got used to each other and merged and blended together, so to speak ...I never went steady so I was not a very good Shagger...they still have Shag contests in Myrtle Beach...By the way, I have a playlist on Spotify of Beach Music...started as a hobby, now it's grown to a whole damn day! (Lordy!)...Check it out if you like...Thanks!

I think you and I have shared some of our favorite classical pieces before....(which I love)...but I also love classic rock, pop, country...well....the list goes on. I like to sing a lot of oldies when my son plays guitar, (he's awesome!) ...huge Beatle fan..Jim Croce', James Taylor .. ...only music I don't really like is rap....I could not live without music in my life!

gosh, I could write forever on this topic, Tim. but in a nutshell, I am a popular music fan. The music that everyone likes is usually what i like too!! (leaning toward alternative music in the past ten years)

Jumpin' Jack Flash, huh?... 'Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out' live at Madison Square?...Recorded in 1969 and the sound is still un-matched to this very day...Enya too singing 'May It Be'...oh yes indeed Cher...may I have this dance?...

By the way, Spotify Premium will cost you the outrageous sum of nine dollars and ninety-five cents per month...Every song ever done with a few exceptions. Example: The Beatles and a few others are not available...You can create your own playlists too...Okay, that's enough...

As everyone can probably tell by my latest contest, my favourite band is The Beatles. I have wonderful memories of listening to their albums with my Dad on his old record player (I think "Yellow Submarine" was the first song I ever heard haha). My favourite song of all time is "Across the Universe." Great blog post, Tim! Music is poetry, after all!

Yep...loved the 80's...'Straight Up' by Paula...sexy-sexy video!...my little buddy got Straight Up too!... Still does when I watch it...it's a real hassle you know? Gotta strap that sucker down with my custom-made belts...get's kinda embarassing too... walking around with a limp and all...and I HATE those baggy pants...
