Christmas Rhyme Premium Contest has been finalized

Thank you for all your wonderful contest entries.  It was a very difficult contest to judge.  I am happy to congratulate Lu Loo as the Trophy winner and also the recipient of a 12 month premium membership! 

It is unfortunate that I did get some grief from this contest. Some people asked if they should enter and if they could win if they already have a premium or lifetime membership. I was clear that I wanted the winner to be a member who at this time does not have either type of membership.  I wanted to give someone an opportunity to have an upgraded membership. Sorry for any confusion. It is not my typical type of contest.  I however did not close it to any members to write and submit a poem for the contest.  

Congratulations to the winners and thank you all for participating. I am glad I was able to give someone some joy during this difficult time due to the pandemic!

Don't worry Tania. No-one is going to lose sleep over it and I admire anyone who is willing to sponsor and give their time to judge a contest, let alone show such generosity. I refrained from entering however as you had suggested in your notes that it was for someone 'who does not already have a premium membership' and there was no suggestion that the prize could be transferable. I have been made aware whilst reading the 'PS it's poetry' anthology of how many wonderful poets there are in our community whose names and poetry I had not encountered before and whom I'll look out for in the year ahead. A good nights sleep is a beautiful thing, it’s always good to be positive. However, if you read the contest description once more you will more than likely have a better understanding of this lovely gesture. Tania only intended for one person to win the membership if they finished in the top three and did not have one. There were ten placements not just one. It did not say that the contest was only for non premium members. I’m sure you didn’t mean for your comment to sound so snarky. Have a wonderful day!

You didn't creat confusion, Tania. I thought you were quite clear in your instructions. Some people find fault in everything, so no need to worry about whoever it was that brought you grief. Thank you for the honor of a place on your winning list, and if chosen as #1, would've gladly donated the premium to another, since some kind person did so for me. Have a great New Year.

I think it’s awesome to give a membership as a prize to those who don’t have one. It’s very unfortunate that we have poets who are rude and jealous and decide to send snarky messages. I guess there are a select few that are better than the rest of us and always try to stir the soup when they have no taste and can’t cook.
