The cold blasts of air hit me as strong as the blows of torment whip a sinner during retribution. My blonde hair covered my face and kept only one of my teary bloodshot eyes showing. My skin had goose bumps. I screamed as I tried to struggle free. For a second, I could actually feel my heart stop beating. I cried out as loud as I could, hoping that some one would hear me, and maybe come to rescue me. Wherever I may be going, I do not want to leave. I never got the chance to say goodbye. What have I ever done to deserve this cruel punishment? I never screamed at mommy. I never stole the cookies from the cookie jar. I never mistreated the neighbour's dog.Oh lord, make this nightmare end! I closed my eyes and video tapes of memories started playing in front of me. Memories played, where my mommy kissed me goodnight, and hugged me for every good morning. Memories played, where I drowned in the sweetest of dreams as I embraced my favorite teddy bear. Memories played, where I was hiding under the colorful shadow of the long bright – colored drapes in my room. Memories played, where I kept my feet warm by wearing my fluffy slippers. Suddenly, that hurtful memory came back, where these mysterious hands dragged me out of bed, and ripped off my Mickey Mouse pajama in a hurry. That hurtful memory came back, where these mysterious hands dressed me up with clothes that I do not like, held a backpack with some of my belongings and carried me out of my own house. The pain goaded me to open my eyes again, and face reality. I gasped my last breath as I watched a great yellow monster approach me. The monster's eyes were made of bright light that penetrated my soul. It roared louder than thunder, and hid my cries and whispers with its shrieks. Its smell reeked! The thick smoke it exhaled was poisonous enough to suffocate me. A few seconds later, it opened its huge mouth, ready to devour me. The mysterious hands that precluded me from escaping carried me up high and were ready to throw me in. The monster's metal teeth and black saliva sent shivers down my spine. I tried resisting with my legs by kicking, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I faced my fate, and went in. I closed my eyes, afraid of watching my own immolation. Unexpectedly, a calming voice soothingly said to me: "Hey kiddo! It's your first day at school! Are you excited? "
