I know so many of you now, well not personally! For those who I am meeting for the first time, my name is Kim Rodrigues. I love to write about my family, travel, life, current events, and Christian themes. I consider my writing eclectic. I enjoy trying out the various forms, love brevity poems, and often write in free verse. Please try a sampling of my poetry. I hope you enjoy! I will try to visit your postings, as well. Yes, we all love to write! That is why we are here but we are ALL poets and want to be read. Consider commenting on others poems. Take the time to give cheer to your FELLOW poets. Love up on the new, old, POTD -- take the time to spread some cheer. Yes, I want you to read mine but more so I hear the hearts of many who feel they are no longer being read. Love thy fellow Soupers. I, like you, get my heart hurt, but without intention mostly. Just take a breath, keep coming back. Let's be good to one another. <3

You get back what you put in, but reading is not an entirely selfless act. I try to spend about half an hour a most days reading and it really helps my poetry. Some reading and commenting on Soup, and a little reading published poems if I can - which I highly recommend too :o)

I've mentioned this before but it seems to mostly fall on deaf ears, if you post a ton of poems your readership and level of commenting tends to be low. Why is that? When the Beatles were hot their album of new songs was eagerly anticipated and carefully timed for release. Imagine though if they put out a new song EVERY day of the year, or even several a day for an entire year. Yes, even for the greats a level of ad nauseum can set in. So my advice: write less, write better, visit and comment more on others work but be sincere. Don't just leave a "lovely poem" comment. This advice is for anyone wanting more attention

I agree with you. Some authors put in ten poems a day. How can anyone expect them to be read. I have so much to do I can't be bothered to read ten poem of the same author day after day. Pity though.

Thank you for your comment! Some poets are just stretching their poetry muscles, learning or shaping their craft. Regardless of how many comments one gets, it is still important to reach out. I do get what you are saying here and of course there is truth to this. Thanks for joining in the conversation.
