What to Submit?

1 original English language poem that can be used for a funeral, eulogy, or memorial service.

When someone you love dies, it is hard to find the words. Write a poem that might comfort a grieving family or express the feelings of losing a loved one.

Any form is acceptable.

My heart has dropped after reading this Blog. I could never place a poem about someone I love and have lost to win something. Sigh. At my Website we have a Garden Of Remembrance where our loved ones, friends are placed. Poems posted, if you have a poem to post. Poets comment and leave their heart there. Expressing emotions of this nature should never be done for a prize. Who thinks that way?? Sigh. ~ Brandy

I don't know, aren't most poems about something passionate - love, life, tears, laughter, loss, and isn't the most passion generated by finality, something we've had that will never be again? Most of what I have written on the subject skirt it somewhat or are fiction or take time to ease because of the intensity of the pain, yet better to let loose. I enter very few contests and the ones I do are more to share than to "Win" and we write, I write, to hopefully share a piece of an emotional moment that will perhaps touch someone or answer their questions that surround common experiences. A contest is more a forum outside your page that allows others to know they are not alone.
