I know that you suggested I leave this computer alone. I did, really, I mowed the lawns, I walked the dogs, I wrote stuff, and cooked a BBQ. Then I came to see how long blogs last on the Home Page, and here I am. You're a master of Haibun as well huh? If these examples are anything to go by, you are. I probably should have known. Contemporary haibun is a combination of prose and haiku poetry, sometimes described as 'a narrative of epiphany'. a prose poem that uses embedded haiku to enhance the composition’s overall resonance and effect.

Rueben NOPE I haven't this is an entry level venue, the hard haiku/haibun venues have scolded me for my prose being too poetic & my haiku too weak YUP, but as Dee likes to say It's good enjoyable writing no matter what form it is or isn't.. the higher point is ..is it any good?

I like them! What is good? I mean, how do we define good? Did you feel good writing them? Do you want to write more? Did others enjoy reading them? Do they resonate in some way? Did they AFFECT someone? All good.

Hmmm... I'll see if I can find something for you. You ARE interested in ALSO writing fiction, creative non-fiction (creative non-fiction is true to life accounts that utilize elements ( aka DEVICES) of fiction for interest. LIKE DIALOGUE.

:D It's like a Klingon trying to talk Romulan. AWK... okay, in my world of fiction and creative non-fiction, even say in journalism (factual accounts) dialogue is formatted a certain way. I'd have to keep censoring myself. One person per paragraph, for example

CONGRATULATIONS! You're making a huge name for yourself.. soon they will be approaching you, hon. Just make 'em pay!!! Hey, we were talking about being out of our element.. I read your haibuns.. well, I'd have to keep slapping my wrists. They are anti-fiction formatted. AWK! I would literally have to think backwards to write in that way, I mean the dialogue! It would be very hard for me to format myself that way after twenty years of careful structuring. I should try it... it would be like skating for the first time. Hugs.

Debs, big congrats for all your success with these publications. I chose the last one to read as I am rushing here today and I really liked it. reminded me of the old school days when I had crushes on the little boys at my school and the wonderful playing in the snow. Awesome blog.

I've been meeting monthly with a writers agent & she said I should start writing more short story because they do sell better and she said she thought I could do it! So I am working on haibun & Flash Fiction, glad you two like them. This is a very nice editor to work with.
