The Waltz Wave Poetry form - Kim Merryman's Blog

Bloggers Photo   Hi! My name is Kim Merryman. I was born April 27, 1959 in Louisville, KY but grew up in Rancho Cordova, CA.  My husband's name is Rob. We were married on May 30, 1981 and we have two grown sons named Daniel and Matthew, and a black cat named Max.

    I currently live in Niceville, FL located in the Florida Panhandle, near Eglin AFB. With my husband being in the Air Force we have moved around a little. We have lived in California, Florida, Texas, Okinawa and North Carolina.

    I am a Christian and many of my poems reflect that.  I've only been writing poetry for 7 years. Most of my inspiration comes while I'm reading my Bible.

     My other interests include reading, crocheting, counted-cross stitch, and playing Scrabble.

     I'm so glad I found Poetry Soup. Since becoming a member I have learned so many new forms. The contests have stretched my creativity and the positive comments are so encouraging.  Even though I've never met you, I feel like I know you. Looking forward to a long, happy relationship with all of you.

The Waltz Wave Poetry form

Hi, Soupers! I found this poetry form on the internet and 

wanted to share it with you. It's called a "Waltz Wave"

 It has 19 lines with the following syllable pattern:

1,2,1,2,3,2,1,2,3,4,3,2,1,2,3,2,1,2,1.  You can split words to

make the syllables fit the pattern, but I prefer not to. I just

 posted my first attempt at one , "Life is Good."  Have any of 

you heard of this form?  Give it a try! Have a fantastic

weekend and I pray that those of you being blasted by the

blizzard will stay safe and warm.

enjoyed the challenge, and think I met it well... "Waltzing Decrees" It was actually fun...but I had to put the syllable count in front of each line to make sure I adhered to the count. Then delete them to copy and paste lol Hope you enjoy...

This form sounds interesting but maybe a bit difficult for my sometimes pea - brain!! I was just reading your biography and realized you live near Eglin AFB as I did growing up..my Dad was stationed at Eglin and we lived in Fort Walton Beach..how small this world is sometimes!!
