He Taught Me
He taught me, never to trust myself
Second guessing became second nature
He taught me, that his rejection was nothing
Minimal to that of the world
He taught me loneliness, with him at my side
physically there, mentally long gone
He taught me, that I wasn't good enough
on to the next, or back to the ex
He taught me, how to feel invisible
even good girls finish last
He taught me, how to be his shoulder
but was no where to be seen when I needed one
He taught me, how to be alone
than he got upset when I mastered the art of it
He taught me, how to be bad
didn't expect I'd do it better than him
He taught me, how to run to him
couldn't take it when I ran from him
He taught me, how to survive in chaos
sometimes in my peace I create it
He taught me, about comfort
and never to trust it
He taught me, how to need him
but to never rely on him
He taught me, how to do the deed
get dressed, walk out and pretend like it meant nothing
He taught me, not to feel
to build walls all around me
He taught me, disappointment
and to never let it surprise me
He taught me, that big girls don't cry
to suck it up and move on
He forgot to love me.
