Missing Mum

Missing Mum
My heart broke in two to let you go.
I told you it was time to go but I didn’t want you too.
I was holding your hand but didn’t want you to let you go.
When you left me you cried a tear.
I have had many more tears since and will never stop.
I know I will never stop about thinking you.
That is the gift that I have been given in order to remember you by.
I know I will grieve forever for that is the cost of losing you.
I don’t feel the same since I lost you I am different.
A part of me is missing.
That is the gift of grieving to never forget you.
You are always with me.
I see little signs Robins, Doves that you are near me.
I know you are gone.
I smile and keep going every day.
You will be forever in my heart.
Love you Mum

I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I would be lost without my mum.. this is a tender and touching poem, showing the pain of loss of someone who brought us into the world.. nothing in this world is as precious as a mother.. no one will call our name like her, no one will feed us like her and her scent will be missed forever.. a beautiful first post Linda.. Welcome to poetry soup..

assuming this is a poem written from a recent loss I wish you healing. We who have lost our Moms know the feeling, in time you will get through this pain. Instead, you will do and say and act as you know your mom would want you too. You will do it because you know she loves you and want you to be happy again. Hold your mom close to your heart but don't let this loss control you. I felt your pain in this poem and hope writing this down helps you.
