Broken sphere Down and down Lost the pier Footing’s underwater Home and city crumbled Hope has gone to slaughter The roots have all come loose My beacons have fallen The moon’s become a noose Ruined plans dropped in a moody pit Cover my eyes and lungs with the dirt Don’t want to see or breathe, let me quit You’ve broken my flight, I’ve lost the air Mishapen umbrellas float downstream Dreams and paradigms choke in despair Don’t bother now to waste a reply Heart’s violins cry a wiry tune All that remains to say is “goodbye”
