Oh, the sun, that I cherish 

I bask in your gold light 

And absorb your warming rays 

You peek behind the clouds 

In an instant, make my day 

 

Sometimes you burn me 

If together we spend too much time 

But how could that alter 

The happiness you bring 

When you filter through my window 

And cause the birds to sing
