The Withered Rose, From My Collection Split Mind

The Withered Rose

				The withered rose
				May be tattered and torn
				Scorned by past trauma

				Still, she is beautiful…
                                She keeps thorns to protect
				That which is left

				She has been eaten alive
				Stepped on near death
Therefore, it is the withered rose
                               That I adore

For there is beauty in her struggle…

Schizophrenia Draft

At first you're in a cloud. But you're not high.
The pills have sucked your dopamine dry.

Most times, you just don't want to try.
Honestly, most times you want to die.

Cast out from society
Split from their reality.

To you, the so called crazy one.
You see media as one big falicy.

They feed you the news. But you just don't bite.
So you're alone every night.

You hide away. Scared people will see the crazy in your eyes.

You tell lies to the doctor,. Yes sir, I'm fine.
But you aren't...

So you know you will never stop these pills
It will be this way for ever.

And all you can think is.
Whatever...

The Great Reset

An Orwellian world
A masked up girl

Tracking and tracing
This place we are facing

Just drones at your door step
With a needle to rep

Yet still the birds fly...

They will let you get high
But never ask why

The queen bee never cries
With no queries to lies

I can't breath with police knees
On my neck

This pale blue speck
Will put us in check

With that you can bet

The great reset...

The Battle

I let myself down
And picked up the bottle again
Drowning the pain.

In my moment of weakness
I was less than brave

Craving that which hurts me
Killing myself slowly
Isnt that insane

Here I am, at my most lowly
To blind to see clearly

I beat myself constantly
So, I drink

If you think this is wasted
You don't know my life

I lost it all because of the bottle
No family, no wife.

Maybe soon I can put it down
Not live so full throttle

I hated myself that I couldn't control
And that I picked up that bottle

A Broken Home Draft

Stolen play and poetry
A swollen face, abused and beat
No food to eat. No table neat
No place to be. No one to meet

No place of love nor friend to see
A child lost in poverty.
The ills of a world seen verily
No smiles now held merely

A while to go till freedom felt
Down to the level I bowed, I nealt.
A promise dead. A mother dead
A stern face. A sentence read.

A child now lost, alone
No mother. No home
So what now whimpering to me
I don't know I said, so quietly

I Will Be With You Too

When the winds shift
As you embrace your gift
And the sun she shines on you
You no longer hold your breath till you are blue
I will be with you too

When the angels cry
And you are no longer just getting by
You realise that you can fly, and you do
Take that leap, as pain you go fast and through
I will be with you too

As the guitar gently weeps
And karma she quietly reaps
All the blessings for you
Your heart you hold onto as if new
I will be with you too

With you till the morning
And up all through the night
Yes, ill be with you from the beginning, till this day is through.
You'll never be lonely
For, I will be with you too.

Shadow of a Man Draft

The sun shone down on the shadow of a man
The man had whiskey in his hand.

He was part of a band, and with his shadow he would play.

Drinking away this fine and sunny day.

His music
Like the grass
Was all dried up.

Looking down at his shadow
His dark figure holds a cup.

Wishing it was words on his tongue
Those days now though seem undone.

So it's Liqour on his lonely lips
His shadow now his only friend.

And while everyone else he has known is now gone
The man with his shadow feels right at home.

The shadow and him.
His friend till the end

This is the shadow of a man

Angel Or Devil In You

There is a devil in every man
Every woman too

Still, I think, and try to understand
Why the devil wants to be in you

I loved you most
And honestly still do

So who will win, the good or bad
The angel or devil in you.

Subway

A lady on the subway
Breaks down
and cries from someone drawing her portrait.
I guess, she has never seen how beautifUl she is before.
She is art, just like you...
Tears or not,
when you see your reflection.
Realising you're a masterpiece
is just the start..

Gratitude

Gratitude
I'm not a stylish dude
I'm a little rude

I'm not a fancy man
Never been handed anything

I can't sing
But I do alone

Most of the time I've been alone
The only one at home

Just me myself and I
Sometimes I want to cry

I just spew it out
You do it now

Why can't I be blessed
Less than the best but still try somehow

Another first draft finished now
Wow.

Gratitude
