Jadyn Dunlap Poem
From One Life to Another
I watch as life falls from their eyes,
A quiet departure, no goodbyes.
The memories fade, the breath grows slow,
As the hands of time gently let go.
Each wrinkle tells a tale untold,
Of days once bright, now dimmed with gold.
In their gaze, a lifetime spent,
Of joys, of pains, of love well lent.
I hold their hands, soft and worn,
Wishing to ease the ache, the mourn.
But in their eyes, I see the past,
A fleeting glimpse, a shadow cast.
Yet as one life fades, another is born,
In the soft cries of children, reborn.
In the nursery, new eyes gleam,
A future waiting, a hopeful dream.
Tiny fingers grasping for more,
A world to explore, to love, to adore.
In their gaze, I see the spark,
A fire igniting, bright in the dark.
From the edges of life to the start of new,
I stand between both, seeing it through.
One life leaves, and one begins,
The endless cycle, the world spins.
And in the dance of birth and death,
I find my place with every breath.
In every goodbye, a hello is near,
And with each life, I hold them dear.
