My Confession II

You reminded me again, not to be late.
That I shouldn't let you hate.
What we have because it's delicate.
That you are fed up, trying to put me upright.
Talking about how much money I waste.
On things that ain't important.
Some that I buy off the internet.
Not to mention, going out on dates.
With group mates, accumulating debts.
Like earning money is a copy and paste.
That you are done with me not being straight.
So you are gonna leave and I will regret.
Because I don't seem to have learnt.
Ever since we met

So I made it simple enough not to complicate.
I talked to immaculate.
And asked her to review my monthly budget.
I blocked Margret.
I told Sarah to talk to Cate.
And tell her never to show up again at our gate.
I told you Peace is a friend, just like fortunate.
Shamim is my workmate same to Annet
And sometimes our bosses ask us to collaborate.
On some projects that's why I have to work late.
With Esther, Fauster and Bridget.
I am not always really out on a date of late.

And not to forget.
Shalom has got Jophet.
Who was my classmate.
So I wouldn't really want to interrupt.
What they have got.
Their relationship is perfect.
Remember the last time we met
In studio, I had to vacate.
Because I didn't want another upset.
Back at home with my soulmate.
Because of a compliment.
Or a comment that would make us fight.
Set us apart and have us separate.

I dearly love and cherish you my sweetheart.

A single mother's hope

Time came when she could no longer afford her pretty makeup.
No money for saloon, she couldn’t imagine the kind of life she had given up.
And the child she gave birth to wasn’t brown skinned
So her and Mr. Peter could no longer put up.
She was working hard trying to convince him that she was a good wife.
But Mr Peter got Haniphah who was prettier and thought would change his life.
Mama Nisha was no longer the pretty angel but just a housewife.

This is a story of a single mother's life.

She is a warrior.
She has got the courage.
She is no stranger to life.
She seeks no new face.
She doesn't need your sympathy.
She knows she is a good mother.
She moves out and finds a bedsitter for her and her little girl Nisha.
She is a soldier with a baby as a uniform in the battle field of life.
All night long she sings a song, “Tulo Tulo kwata Nisha”.

She moves on with her life.
With a smile on her face like she's got no regrets from yesterday.
She needs a man.
But the one she has got is out there having fun with another woman.
So she decides to take her time.
Because she doesn’t want to get another who is just like the other.
Her feet have walked on broken glass.
And won’t stop just for another heartbreak.

Mama Nisha is a village woman.
All she knew was to respect her man.
But then he left her, he left with Haniphah.
Now she knows more, she knows her worth.
She won’t wait for a loser or settle for less.
She knows she needs a real man.
One who won't love her for her makeup.
But rather love her for her beautiful smile and the makeup on her brains.
She knows she has got a daughter to raise.
She has got bills to pay.
And to Nisha, she is the mother and the father.

Every morning, she puts Nisha on her back.
As she out to face the world.
She needs to hustle so they can eat.
Bills are high let alone the cost of living is high.
Taking baby steps to change her life.
She knows she will reach no turn back.
She doesn’t pray for luck.
She only prays she never gets stuck.

Mama Nisha is a single Mother.

Talking To Myself

Whether you love me
Or just love what I do for you
You are a blessing.
You are a legend
To me you are an icon
I don't know if I know you
But you are an inspiration
To this generation

I might like you or really not like you.
I might love you or rather just hate you.
Approve you or just disapprove you.
Get you close or just distance you.
Tag you or never mention you.

But you, don't really need mentions.
You have got those eagle wings.
I know you can fly high .
High above the horizon.
To you, I know the sky ain't no limit.
You can defy the odds.
Though a lot of situations get into your path.
I don't know if anything can stop you.

You have got the heart of warrior.
That spirit of hustler.
The patience of a butler.
Courage of a lion.
The mentality of a champion.
You have got to put your crown on.
And never let it fall off.
Even when you dose off.
A little faith is just enough.

In this game, I know you are the best.
You play it so well.
You can win with your eyes closed.
You mastered the art flawlessly.
You paint the picture with compassion.
With marks and edges not known to my eye.
Creating a desire I can't resist.
I love your determination.

Whether you love me
Or just love what I do for you.
You are a blessing.
A born fighter and a winner.

Honest Confessions

With knees deep in ice.
I keep deep in cold.
I was born lucky, am nice.
With dope I uphold.

You can't fool me twice,
But if you do, I play it cool.
With time you pay the price.
I can never call you a fool.

I was born into patience.
All I know is love.
I live each day with a difference.
Am still trying to evolve.

I am hard to love, I know.
Am equally hard to let go.
But I ain't too dumb to know.
That you reap what you sow as you go.

I put family first
For they are my everything.
I have issues with trust.
I hate breaking.

Celebrate Me

Give me flowers while you still can,
In this fleeting world, a brief lifespan.
Don't wait till I am under the sand,
To say I was the man that always took a stand.
Let blossoms of love unfold,
In the tapestry of moments, stories untold.

I have cretinous heights to get to,
Yet I live my life impromptu.
Like petals whispering tales of grace,
Embraced by time, a fleeting embrace.
Letting fragrant verses of beauty unfurl,
In the garden of life, a precious swirl.

For time is a painter, a swift brushstroke,
Cherish the blooms before they revoke.
In the melody of now, a sweet refrain,
Everything earned, nothing given.

Give me flowers while you still can,
let their essence remain, it's a brief lifespan.
Celebrate me.

Solitude Moment

Some moments can't be comprehended
Some situations can't be compared
Some stories can't be told
Some dreams can't be understood
Some lies ain't real lies
Some pictures are never clear

And at times,
Life is all you've got.

Do nothing,
Say nothing or,
Be nothing in their sight
Believe in none,
No stories,
No words

But have faith in you, in the journey.
Believe the light in you can light the world.
Don't stand by, with or besides.
But stand up for what is right,
For what you believe in.
And stay true to self.

Your dream is all you have got.
Talk to you,
Motivate and inspire you.
Move forward, a step at time.
Focus on you, and give a hand where necessary.
And you will find that life gets lighter

Masked

I hide my true self in these lines.
My love is more written than spoken.
I know what I want.
But I can't afford to say it out loud.
I am living a lie.
I am masked.

We Both Knew

We both knew.
We both loved.

We were both criticized.
But we both stayed strong.
We were young and free.
Living out a dream life

Some hated and talked much.
But we still did the walk.
Never giving up on each other.

When your mother called.
I told her the ugly truth.
I could feel her pain.
On the other side of the phone.
Yet she still gave us a benefit of doubt.

And when you met my parents.
You gave them confidence.
And they believed in you.
Something you always prayed for.

But deep inside me I knew.
That wasn't all there was to you.
You wanted more.
You craved only for the best.

Through the perfect sight you presented.
I could see,
Your lust for a loving family.
Your tremendous love for a child.
One of your own.
Your patience, oh my.

I can never forget your marvelous smile.
Your dimples, that amplified you beauty.
Your captivating glances.
Always giving me a rush.

I can't thank you enough.
I know someday.
The Almighty God will give you.
All your heartily desires.

You deserve better than you can ever imagine.
I am glad I have you.
My darling love.

Mother

Mother, you are God given.
Sent to me from heaven.
Clothed in strength and dignity.
With love and care,
That's extraordinarily great.
You are an angel in the shape of a mother.
A guardian through any kind of weather.
I want you to live, till your back is bent.

You made it through times.
Hard and good,
With a cheerful smile on your face.
You always laughed about days to come.
Even when no one else saw the light.
You were always optimistic.
You opened your mouth with wisdom.
Teachings of kindness on your tongue.
Mother, other women have done excellently.
But you surpass them all.

You are my greatest inspiration.
A shoulder for me to lean on,
That never lets me down no matter the situation.
Blessed are the works of your hands.
I pray to God everyday,
That I make you proud before your chosen day.
I love you mother.

My Confession

Am on tension
You are right to question
If my situation
Leads me to contradiction
Then I need a solution
Rather than seek medication,
Meditation or attention

See, I am sick
Same stories week after week
Am weak,
Am in check
But I choose to stay meek
Stuck like a brick
In the wall, even during an earthquake.

All night, I stay awake
Crying tears that can't fill lake
This must all be fake
My heart bleeds, it's gonna break
Stress at the peak
Chewing on my emotions like cornflake
If this is a dream, I wanna wake
Tell me all the options I can take,
For only the right one shall I pick.

Everytime you ask me about Shalom.
My stomach bubbles making foam.
And then burns like there is a flame.
I can't deny, but take the blame.
Thought all I did was for fame.
I didn't realise I was being tamed.
I was beaten at my own game.
See, Shalom is a gem.
Her voice is a charm.
And everytime she is in the room.
It's never the same.
I always fail to keep calm.

I wanna move on, maybe as fast as a deer.
But I don't wanna stop calling you my dear.
I made a mistake with a peer.
Influenced by the liquor, I treasured the beer.
But I never forgot our love is dear.
If a sorry can bring you some cheer.
Then in your eyes darling I will stare.
And say the words because I care.
You are the type of girl I can't compare.
Because when you come around, you take me there.
Perfect couple, we are a lovely pair.
I kill my pride, I wanna be fair.
This heartbreak is heavy, the type of pain I can't bare.

Or maybe I have no decision to make.
Maybe I just miss the cakes you bake.
Maybe I should take a break.
Sit and focus on my next cheque.
Before I get a control fleak.
Or get myself used to the trick.
