Yella 'Nana
I found a yella 'nana walking down the street
I took him home and peeled him 'fore dinner
He's my organic appetizer
And I'm his sweet treat

Thanks to C.L. Thornton and Sidney Hall for helping me to sort this little poem to
closure!...

Perceptions
We all only see
What we choose to see
Insecurity
Dumb morality
Numb pathology

Devil inside
Entrust or die
Conquer divide
What truths they hide

Death at door
For now or
Forever

I splice
Sever

Purge.

Croydon Yesteryear
You've aged well with Conviction
Guarding your yesteryears
of residential Presbyterian Thornton Heath in 58
and Kennards in the town centre
Bygone Croydon days
with Grants and Allders, crown jewels
and Beatles at the festive Fairfield Halls 63
and Young Conservatives 64 in Purley...

History Repeated
HISTORY GROOK #1

History is an open book
We could easily turn the pages.
Perhaps our fear prevents a read
Of life throughout the ages?

HISTORY GROOK #2

History in flux;
The ebb and flow of life;
Lessons learned by none.

Her Sinking Silence
HER SINKING SILENCE

It feels like sinking.
This stirring, unrequited thinking.
This love. This connecting
Emotive quantum linking
It pains.
You in obduracy
Me alone, pathetically
In pain.
Again.
We could be
So happy.
Instead
We’re dead
The end.

Sly Snake
Sly snake what a rakish slither
belly walker cunning talker
Persuade the moon to buy the sky
Charging moonbeams by the hour

Stud In Mud
Poverty possessed – need to own Steal away to possess by me – and me alone Ludicrous to obsess need to love Stolen away to either be free and obsessed or jailed and alone With time displaced time we’ve grown

Chimera
CHIMERA

An angel in the garden
The heart held from heaven
Your stormy clouds obscure the moon
A mosaic of darkness
Like the blacks of her eyes
A gardian of principle
The only principality is pain
Trapped within a maze passed midnight
Caught in the chaos. simple.
subterfuge. Delayed.

end.

Siamese Twin
SIAMESE TWIN
By Joel Thornton may 2015

Insentient

Insidious/deplorable

The fecal sediment settles to my sentiment

The sewages now inseparable.

An inability to act

Apathetic and indifferent

Pathetically react

Meaningless and unaware.

Now incapable of disjoining

Fused, spliced to the core.

Combining

Convergence

The gore, the urgency.

The horrible timing

The irony, how unfair....

He claimed I was a young rambuncious lad, very sharp:
He knows how to solve a Rubik's Cube and play the harp!
But did Mr. Thornton know
that I used to be a simple so 'n' so?
Family and friends once said,
"That piano is just way over your head!"
Being the dreamer I took it metaphorically
not realizing they were concerned for my safety.
And just as quick as one would drop a hat,
under half a ton of wood, I became all too flat....

Vicious Statement
Invictive
Licentious Offense - Vilify Emotions
Yielded Offer Unveiled
Becoming Ugly Theatrics
In Contentious Another New Terrible
Humorous Accusation - Violent Explosion!
Yelling out! - Understood.

Intruding
Losing over violent escapes
You’re often unavailable
Because unappreciative Terror
I could ask nefarious timing
How addictively vicious – enticing
Yellow Optics Uncanny

ANTHROSPACE
The illusion of being separate,
Is the source of all our misery.
We are imprisoned in a periphery
A shell of limited moral/mortality
Our mistake was to divorce nature.
To create a space so separate.
In order to emancipate
Individuality
A self-serving space,
Out of order, out of place.
We are one.
With Nature loss,
And space:
Capricious and alone,
The cost of creativity

End.

Church Ladies
Saw you coming;
That look of want in your eyes.
You and your ‘flock' of friends,
A karma soaking in debts.
A throne of donation, loans, and foreclosed homes.
A book you exploit tells:
Snakes like you he sends alone to damnation
Church, heaven, hell?
It all misses the point..
A soul you cannot sell.
‘Non-profit' influence belief (buy with your mind)
Their Peddling lies
The manipulator has stories to tell.
