in a drawl he barely musters
launching holy wars
while behind locked doors
he would give more head than Custer....

A rancher in friendly State of Texas
proudly finds in his longhorn a nexus
between fighter bull’s mad crash
and Austin footballer’s dash,
through history page to Spain he takes us.

Animals At Home
a pig in the mud,
is so unlike a rosebud.

A chicken in the coop,
hanging around their group.

Cows grazing in the pasture,
in the house sits the rancher.

Clear blue water in the pond,
sitting there I spot a beautiful swan.

Sun going down in the west,
think I'll go in the house and get some rest....

Vanquishing Vampire Vixens, Part Iv
...Then, as expected, came a post-rider,
with a new letter he had to deliver:
A rancher facing evils not of this Earth,
so Sol saddled up, double-checked the girth.

Then rode out northwards in the morning dim,
never again would Victorville see him,
but this was God’s price for things he had done,
fighting monsters to earn his redemption....

Premium Member You Need a Good Saddle
He sat emboldened in the saddle, The cowpoke on the plains, Herding his longhorns. Sometimes folks decorate with steer horns; A rancher must have a well made saddle But, unlike his home and car, it’s plain. He has to navigate many plains; Sometimes he’ll lose a longhorn; With a difficult task, he’s saddled. So, his well made ordinary, plain saddle, will last through years of herding longhorns without much pain.
