Nom de Plume
Soft and feathery and illusive
Each word a woven world of fantasy
An artistic lair for the lunacy of emotion

Musical, distant and serene
Aesthetic shelters like seashells
Cast by the angst of the ocean

DIPPING MY QUILL IN MOON-INK

Lantern swings, overhead, in brilliant thought

Moonglow tickles the writer’s plumage

Nightingale’s nom de plume

Opus tweets out sweet lyrics.

Recklessly romantic in clinging full-length nightgown

Listen to poem:
You earned it
The right to
Stand out

To show your true colors
To go by the name
That best represents
The real authentic you
The you you’ve grown into

Select your pen name
With utmost care
Flaunt your uniqueness
Divulge your true colors

Nom De Plume
It’s important
 what you get called
has a name,
one you can take
to the ivory
border
It’s important
what you’re called
is remembered the same,
today recollected
tomorrow
reordered
A mark on the stone
no longer
unknown,
your history and
legacy
rendered
Sapphire crystal
overlord set,
the past
eponymous
the future

Nom De Plume
Alias
Also known as (A.K.A)....
No judgment
No regrets
I hate with fury
I love like no other
I have been called a bastard & S.O.B
Every name in the book
My mind travels to undiscovered places
My words most likely will offend
My choices aren't always right
I will own any of those choices if asked
No explanations given
Ryan is the first
de Rossi is the last
That is me!

Love Perfume
Under the midnight sky, lighted by the moon,
Enriched by the stars, scorned by its bloom,
Signing their fate under the night’s nom de plume
Mystically connected with Mother’s nature’s womb
Where all dreams and hopes are cultivated to bloom
All inhaling love’s sweetest perfume.

Nom De Plume
I feel the futility
after decades
of my fingers flitting
like dragonflies
over the keys
my once hopeful heart
shriveled and shrunken
as a plum into a prune
Shakespeare and Miller
Marlowe and Pinter
will never again
pick up the plume
to pen another
poem or play
yet they live on today
while my words
wither in the womb
Stillborn they are silently
whisked away unread
without a funeral
to the tomb...

Adios, Carlos
A candidate for mayor
Has been sexting with a stranger.
In cyberspace, his nom de plume
Is, get this, Carlos Danger!

He once got caught and lost his job
And promised to reform,
But lying, to a politician,
Seems to be the norm.

So Weiner (yes, that is his name!)
Continues to campaign,
Although from sending pen**-pictures,
He cannot abstain.

Though every single candidate
Must have his share of flaws,
I think New Yorkers need a mayor
Who won’t drop his drawers!...

Another Poet
The crowd was hushed and waiting
For wishes to resume
When suddenly there was
Another poet in the room.

When words might be expected,
My friends would all assume
That rhyming thoughts would come
From me, the poet in the room.

These folks were not my homies;
My sibs were there, though, whom
Would surely have expected
Me to rhyme into the room.

I had no poem I'd written,
No words with nom de plume,
But how I wished I'd been
The only poet in the room....
