Blindsided By
through out the years
seemed to be
constantly blindsided by
backhanded compliments
made that were fuelled by
pent up resentments...

Blindsided
Lived a sly lady of Mozambique
who seductivly offered a peek.
Men paid her a buck
but were out of luck.
What they saw was totally oblique....

By-Product Of
by-product of
unconditional
blindsided faith
in the innate power
of bounds made
through time
never able to see
that the feeling was
not mutual
believed in the version
of truth that was make believe...

Knave of Hearts
my heart now missing
a souvenir that you took
displayed on your shelf
quickly forgotten
hidden behind the others
you, the knave of hearts
a true master of the game
no deviations
from the plan devised
me, blindsided by moonlight...

Girl, His Heart Was Never There
Girl, his heart was never there
But you decided to stay
You were blindsided by love
He had sadly, led you astray
You have suffered a great deal
What a tough lesson to learn
Next time just open your eyes
So you will not get burned...

Move On
Walking in torment,
Blindsided by hope,
A hunid day passes,
It’s so hard to cope,

The secluded terrain,
Belligerent inside,
It tries to devour,
Every movement in stride,

To go on so bare,
Reverse what is done,
To move on again,
To fight and not run....

I never saw it coming
I would have done anything for you
You blindsided me
Hurt and violated me
Stripped me of my dignity
I trusted you

Blindsided
You made me
Think you believed me.
When I told you what I
Find out.
Then you went and Blindsided me.
Protecting your image
And your family.
Was more important
Then the truth.
So you took Emily
From me .
And I saw your true colors.
I knew then you
You were never for me....

beyond blue mountains
deep gold horizon sunrise
a peach rose unfurls

suddenly so green
and baby jays are singing
blindsided by spring

rise up at pink dawn
the early bird is crowing
miles before moonlight

sweet kindergarten
where minds begin to wander
here there everywhere...

Rich Thoughts, Poor Habits
With no riches to afford happiness, I dwell in poverty
With no payment in sight, I shut my eyes to a world I do not know
Coins jingle as they search for a way of escape from my entrapment
The increments are present, yet I have no sense
With dreams of spending, blindsided by the reality of begging...

While My Eyes Were Watching God
While my eyes were watching God,
All hell was breaking loose,
Refusing to be contained,
Overpowering emotion
Until nothing remained,
Not even the notion.
While my eyes were watching God,
I was blindsided by reality,
Subjected to the formality
Of the faithless,
Leaning on my faith less and less....

Sweet Sorrow
Sweet sorrow
promise yet another tomorrow.
which footsteps do I follow?
Who's eyes can I borrow?
Cause my own seem to be in the dark, covered with dust.
How can I trust a vision so unclear?
Is the nature you posses true or am I blindsided by your beauty?
Sweet sorrow -
little of you is better than none....

Can'T Nobody Take His Place
(in reference to Santa Clause)

There's Noone, in this whole,
human race
Who could mimic his style
and grace
How he, magically, brings
a Smile to Every face
Filling of Our stockings and
tree, an empty space
Leaving Us blindsided, as
by a can of mace
It's no wonder, We to what
he stands for, gives a good
chase
Especially if NOBODY can Ever
take his place...

The Right Trail of Tracks
You can’t find a deer
If you follow bear tracks
Always look for the right tracks
If you look at a crow

Thinking it’s a dove
You have been blindsided
If you drink saltwater the taste
Is always disagreeable

If a thorn from a rose bush pricks you
Will you touch it again and if you do
You may end up getting another prick
Be cautious when hunting

For Love...

Blindsided
who are you
if not my friend
holding my hand
as we wait for news
unbearable news

where will you be
if not with me
good and bad
as we grocery shop or
choose a coffin

what will you say
if not the truth
life spins out of control
and we're unprepared
we couldn't have known

when can be alone
if this goes on
and wait for words
heads on pillows
can we find our way?

how can I love you
any more?...

Blindsided by Dust
Her whispers of "love," a suffocating embrace,
She claimed I was her air, her very space.
Blinded, I clung to a love's sweet charade,
Ignoring whispers, the warnings that frayed.

Smiles, kisses, a tapestry brightly spun,
Purpose bloomed, a battle fought and won.
Deaf to murmurs, blind to crimson signs,
Lost in a dream where forever entwines.

Now dust settles, a truth I can't deny,
The façade crumbles, a love turned a lie....

Blindsided
How has it come?
There was youth,
then love-
a certained indefatigable spirit,
tending memories, coddling pasts;
those pasts, her.
Recalled experiences as exhilarating
as the finest spring breath;
he'd left it all to chance,
or specified women, and now
blindsided by loneliness
and loss,
waxing and waning unpredictably,
but mostly waning.
An ordinary mortal
leads an un-heroic life
until nothing remains inside.
No, tears are not just water....

Broken Souls
Battered by the harshness of life
Blindsided by Fate
Abandoned by their gods
These world-weary tattered souls
living on misguided beliefs and shallow ideals,
They are unable to break free from
the shackles of tolerance and indifference.

Who’ll mend their ways?
Neglected by their fellowmen
Forgotten by unforgiving time…
Oh, are these the children of a Lesser God?

These Lips Are To Cold To Kiss
Time, is combined, in my mind.
Tragedy trickles to nowhere,
And now this pain I bare.
Seeing you for your worth,
Hearing you are only earth.
Killing, and filling, this feeling.
Lame, losers look like you.
Now this heart you threw,
Up on, and left the mess.
So this is progress?
Torture, under, this blur.
Blindsided by big, bountiful, beams,
That left me in shattered dreams.
Never thought I could catch this,
Because these lips are to cold to kiss....

Premium Member Mirror, Mirror Hanging Inside
Their is a reflection within you blindsided
that which has already decided one way or the other
sometimes the truth has a relationship
and love can never be divorced from it
Why do you hold the cross incorrectly
standing at the altar rails claiming to be religious
Holy Innocence is found guilty within your court
is their something behind those eyes lost beyond saving
in that which tortures your freedom of choice
and makes a slave out of life condemning a soul to death...

Blindsided/Dumbfounded
Moments of numbness, replaced by a blast.
Icy cold fingers grip my chest - I gasp.

It's heat of summer; No wind in sight.
Just icy coldness of things not right.

No words can form; No thoughts set upright.
All is a jumble; My throat is knot tight.

Nothing can free; Culpability.
Denigrates dignity; Evil agrees.

No way to erase, fathom - explain.
How to go forward - enshrouding such pain.

Loss of all focus; Struggling to gain
Release from coldness; Icy coldness and pain....
