Doors to Your Heart
best friend, family, feelings,
I wish that I could bear all pains for you,
Sue’s labour lasted for seventeen hours
finally hears newborn cries -
a family at last!

appreciation, celebration, christmas, family,
The click-clack of reindeer hooves on the roof;
A tight slide down the chimney;
THE ALOHA SPIRIT
beach, family, ocean,
like linen sheets upon a clothesline breathe
air circulates through our home
Pearl City Oahu
a small fenced in yard bumps the busy road
where a papaya tree grows
Residential Schools Tragedy
abuse, child abuse, culture,
virtuous intentions or so they claimed
integration at all costs
just one more genocide
appreciation, childhood, children, family,
often crossed my mind how lucky we were
no illness nor tragedy
six kids big family
WELCOME TO THE WORLD
Tears of joy flow freely from dad's blue eyes
God’s gift of a precious son
Family now complete
Syllable Counter used how many Syllables, 10, 7, 6
A positive poem
Drowning deep in love, lost factual self,
Yesterday's acres are forever green
stretched over distance and time
crocheted with strong thread

angst, hope, nature,
Web wet with dew sparkles in morning light
The spider toiling all night
Hoping for a banquet
Working all night to support family
Caught up in a web of...
how precious was this babe born too early
smaller than her mother’s hand
now she rests in God’s hands
she never met her earthly family
but in heaven they’ll...
Thanksgiving is for friends and family
However for you it’s stress
Will you make it pleasant
Christmases Past on Mantel Hung
family, holiday, love, pets,
Christmases Past, on Mantel Hung
Three stockings line the hearth, each one a "tail"
of warm Christmas past, of love
hand-knitted, chewed by pup!

The Special Day of Two Very Different Girls
thousands of dollars and months of planning
her big dream just four hours long. . . .
the wonderful wedding
a small wedding; just friends and family
The cycle from spirit to man to soul,
life once there, now here, then back
is God’s eternal gift...

Poetic form: Kimo
family, history, loss, nostalgia,
An antique beauty poses, long gone now
Her form is stranded in time
The canvas is fading.
family, father, funny, life,
Dad is not happy when mom is with him
Watching a karate film
She employs what she sees
Pleasure in Sin
confusion, devotion, faith, family,
Sensational seasonal sinful sights,
Sounds and smells taste, talk and think
Until bloated and parched....
New Year Money
family, food, friendship, funny,
Pots full of collard greens and blackeyed peas
Are surely Superstition's
Little Arm Pillow
caregiving, daughter, family, father,
Cradled tenderly between the left arm
And breast, the soft and fragile
Newborn closed its eyes....
