Without him, I will never know how lost I am
I'll never know where I'm going or where I came from.

I went to the ocean where we used to go,
I sat on the cliffs and I felt the wind blow.
I saw with my eyes, the seasons, they change
The waves come in and they go out again.
I picked up a leaf, and wrote down my heart
A gift from me, now that we're apart.
I know that I want you, I know you don't care.
I know that I need you, I know you're not there.
I know what I want, can never be
Because it's too late baby to say what I need.
So I whispered "I love you" to a cloudless sky,
and wiped away a drop that fell from my eye.

the salty wind blowing from far, far away
read me a poem today
whose lines I've heard before,
bur where and when,
I couldn't tell:
"the shortest road is the one
that you know,
the longest road is the one
that you love"
soaked in deep thoughts,
I sat there for hours and hours
my eyes shut, lips dry
waiting for further clues
until, as a sudden,
the 'longest way' part rang a bell
I got off the chair,
opened my arms wide towards the ocean
hugged and kissed the wind,
the almightiest messenger of them all,
for making me feel again
so well.

we'll take a walk in the open fields.
we'll play with the water and the ocean breeze.
you'll laugh like you've never laughed before.
and we'll take every chance on every open door.
i will be you guardian and you'll be my light.
with you by my side, everything feels right.

The friendly faces that once were
Are faded and jaded, unrecognizeable
You should be so proud

And you are afraid of what? Lone sailor-

The castles in the distance,
are rocks arranged in order,
to match the need of escape,
and the ultimate inclusion...
of self-sufficiency and freedom.
Monsters in the dark,
some of our own making,
most tangible even to the blind.
Yelling things at us loudly,
but no one hears...
anything,
but sublime.
Storms on the forefront,
of every new beginning.
The map ever-changing before our feet,
The goal elusive and yet complete.
Looking for a ribbon,
of yarn or thread?
Turns out to be kite string,
running through our head.
Laughing barefoot in tall grass,
remembering all that has gone before,
yet look forward to what is coming,
a tsunami of water; a whole ocean,
to ride a wild wave to the very stars.
As I know that is where...
you are!
