Best Alarum Poems

Premium Member A Second Helping

Of the dark, offered in the morning cup,
and the chill of salted caramel cream,
spooning after an impervious dream
and clink-clink spell of alarum abrupt,
comes the ceramic to sip, birdsong up.
Fruity-caffeine drips into the bloodstream.
Imagery from a black forest daydream.
Pleasing sense and bonny sounds come to sup.
Draining of dregs, at last bit - bottom’s cold.
The Cupid sheet, vanilla, clings to spouse.
The warmth of my body under his skin.
The vigor of unharnessed dark horse bold.
His stirring, a second helping, aroused.
Pastels of cockcrow flutes, dawn’s violins.

What I Was Once

The genie is out of the bottle
Has stolen out into the night

Pandora’s box is become unlocked
Things will ne’er again seem right

It came about, with no hue or shout
No alarum of fear or fright

Life took a twist, one could not resist
Impulsively gave in without a fight

Succumbed to pleasure, in new-found treasure
Of her eyes, her sighs…sweet delight

Soft feel still lingers, to touch of my fingers
Press of her body to mine…e’er so slight

My being, my world, tumbled and twirled
My heart…my very soul, imbued with her light

The genie is free, Pandora can flee
What I was once…now no longer can I be

Mission San Francisco De Solano

Russians supplied mission old bells.
High in tower chime their slow knells.
Listen, great their single tone swells.
Honor those dead.
Time to mourn alarum note tells.
Missal lines read.

Karma

kindling our deepest fears,
always drowning in our tears.
realizing all our hells,
mellowing alarum bells.
always we find our life in the end.

Halt! Halt! Give em your hand but not your hearts
For when they hover around you,
You are an imminent carcass.
These vipers of Eden unrelenting, carry about their venoms
Fluttering and flapping with the disposition of a butterfly
And a grasshopper combined.
The sight of her should trigger an "alarum" bell in every wise man.

With the juice supped, they flitter away
Seeking other juicy flowers in the circle of moral doom
Like bubonic plague, spreading devastating virus
Like the physician ampoule, ready on your skin to pour.
They waste your time,
Waste your money
Sapp your energy
Leaving you with unforgettable miseries
Be not down on a chauvinistic egotism in her environment
For another trial, may certify your demise

Premium Member Message Alarum

As imposed barrier in your world fall
Light will shine as a ray beam through the dark
Receiving the message to hear the call
Letting love to flow and scatter its spark
Transcending into an unrecognized
State of absolute and total healing
Erasing all scars in your whole being
Coming a new one with a good feeling
Apt to live without any misgiving
Embracing happiness as the ending .

Halt, halt,

Give Lust your hands, but NOT your hearts,

For when they hover around you,

You are an imminent carcass,

Loitering and flapping with the disposition of a butterfly and grasshopper combined.

The sight of her should trigger alarum bell in every wise man,

They waste your time,

They waste your money,

Sup your energy and

get you into trouble.

Like a bubonic plague,

Spreading devastating virus,

As a butterfly, pollinating;

With the juice supped,

They flutter away

Seeking other juicy flowers in the circle of moral doom.

Refrain from the hype of chauvinistic egotism when lust ignites,

For another trial may certify your demise,

No wonder, they are called Women

For many are the woes of most men

The Vessel pt 3 - The Midnight Hour

The Vessel pt. 3 - The Midnight Hour

             ~{Renatus}~

Toll of the bell at Midnight Hour,
High above, —the full moon still
Below, a sepulcher in darkness devoured,
Encased in fog and Winter's chill

An ebon fowl of blackest plume,
Solemn, —perched atop sculpted stone;
Keeps vigil over accurséd tomb,
Till stir within of flesh and bone

Awakened from the deepest slumber,
Horror made flesh —forged from pain
With words and fists unencumbered,
By those who wished to control and maim

Twinge of madness with every breath,
Burning vengeance twists the mind
Tormented soul in thrall to Death—
Goads the raven from its earthly bind

Crypt expels this chilling disdain,
Darkness in flesh—imbue then impart
Path of corvid and beast, split in twain,
Of Earth and Of Ether, each depart

             ~{Revenant}~

"Covet the land, no company I keep..."

Over the mire, muck and tangle—
Unhindered by pernicious terrain—
This Beast, spoke of —only in fable,
Recompense for innocence slain

A village, quiet, —till breath of day,
Save for the sentinel up on high
Wide-eyed, sober, meets raven's gaze,
Raised alarum splits moonlit sky

"Covet the land, no company I keep,
Mortal hearts fill with dread..."

Shattered silence from panicked yell,
As ominous fog blankets the land
Thunderous peal breaks Sandman's spell,
The watchman bellows frantic commands:

—
"Latch the windows! Bar the doors!
Pray to your God overhead!
Then dare not creak a single board!
Nor let slip! —an utterance from dread!"
—

No sooner these last words spoken,
Tearing of flesh, then gurgling sound
The Beast, swift! —His throat torn open
Enveloping fog, a burial shroud

"Covet the land, no company I keep,
Mortal hearts fill with dread
Inevitable slaughter of the sheep,
An insatiable hunger to be fed."

Summer Sounds I

an alarum of distant clanks
wakens drowsy heads
bright eyes inspect the room
outside the sun is calling
tapping on the windows
with cedar branches, “get up”

cow bells clank in dull chorus
they trod home for relief
milk splishes into pails
warm and foamy
the girls return to pasture
for another day of manufacture

granny door cracking
echoes through the pines
releases the hordes of children
once again with aged groan
it crack closed
to keep the flies out.

pounding on the earth
young feet earthquake
to the glassed lake,
breath in the chill air
and catch the sun as
it rises above the forest

giggles and shrieks
break the waters poise
the day commences
