This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

Must you mileage chalk up in free verse speed way

For Kim Patrice Nunez*, with hope

Must you mileage chalk up in free verse speed way
Let your wheels skid by letting loose grip on wheel
Free verse range’s for marksmen trained on rondolet*
Dipodic foot pantun villanelle dactyl

Cut their teeth on the slippery run-on-line
Roll their anaepest tongue round limerick rhyme
Do not a ballad begin with aubade fine
Nor drive straight past end-stopped line’s feminine rhyme

Such as painters’ coprophilia canvasses
Hide chance ironic hidden ghostly faces
Cubist abstract surrealist morasses
Whose apprenticeships lead to trumping aces

Far too many poets love the sound of words
Yet shirk bardic tasks speeding on twisted roads

     * Nunez: Sorry, no tilde over the “n” on my Mac.
•	rondolet: French pronunciation rhymes with “way”.

Bless me
with the fluency of fury
and the articulate voice of anger.
Spare me though,
of its affliction of aggression.

Let my pen paint
the reflection of my thoughts
like a mirror.
Thus my lines become
clones of my imaginations.

Let creativity be
the stubborn shadow
of my verses
and let not inspiration
fly out of my window.

And I will spread this like wildfire
with love and seflessness,
I will make hot the world.

(Spin)

To not broaden your heart's landscape
is to not see all of suffering.
Without this ability we are hopeless in our thinking
that we are alone in our suffering.

(Spin)

In the mist of struggle
I cannot breathe without writing something.

If you could dream and not make your dreams your enemy
If you could drive your mind out of all insanity
You will have perfected all seen in reality
A standard life is all one really wishes for
A simple light is what I see down this corridor
So unique and small yet so complex and infinite
Did not chose this ocean but choosing to navigate in it
In time of struggle I must stay optimistic

Lucifer was once very beautiful and majestic
In reflection not bound to be acknowledged
In hope of recognition for what he thought was knowledge
There and then assuming he was right
Believing he was greater than those that fight in the light

Today I live in fear and in sin
Mesmerizing the unreachable scars under my skin
Playing a game that's inevitable to change
Like the moon in the sky being pulled to close range
Following the natural law of existence
you're born, you live and die in an instant

Always live your life in appreciation
Begin with what you don't have
And use it as motivation
To want to succeed
More than you want to breath
From hard work freedom you will receive
Like a seed pushing through concrete
Destined to be a great tree
Standing so tall
It reaches the heavens that couldn't be seen
Never thought of
Nor granted to be conceived
Now I believe
Please set me free

Not afraid to rise above silence
Not afraid to smile in a day full of sorrow
I recognize when I'm wrong
Yet always fighting for tomorrow

Regardless of THE LONELY HOURS it must have sat IN SHADOWS EMPTY and
BANISHED since 1864, the CHAIR OF DESPAIR CONTEST(ed) is not LOST IN THE
PAST. It has evolved into GRANDPA’S PRAYER CHAIR even though it was nearly
FORGOTTEN amongst the BIRTH AND DEATH(s) of the family’s history. This is a CHAIR
NOT FOR SIT-DOWN TYPE because it isn’t plush, comfy or frequently used. Its’ true
DISCOVERY is seeing AN AGING PAGE of family dreams where you can
SIT WITH MEMORIES and be SOLACED by this CHAIR IN A SHADOWED ROOM.

To say NOTHING HAPPENED HERE only applies to events BEFORE THE SHAKERS SEAT
was in place. THE CHAIR has become the fabric of the family mosaic, fulfilling its’
destiny as A MUSEUM PEACE for all who have vision and are willing to see.

This narrative was inspired by poets’ winning titles in the “Chair in Shadowed Room”
contest. JT

I call it a blessing from above
And I know everyone wants this to have
Everyone is looking for it
But only few can found it

I'm lucky I'm one of that few
And I've been blessed to found true love in you
It's like a dream came true
To be loved by the guy I loved too

To you,I felt the undefined happiness
For me,for all the guys you are the best!
And I want you to stay for the rest of my life
Coz' I really need someone like you in my life

I consider you as a blessing sweetheart
So I give to you my sincere HEART
I love you forever
And I hope that God will guide us to be together..forever

1

Sunrise, late winter
skunk smell
turkey flock
playful otter, too.

The white heron
a great blue,
white phase,
in the abandoned beaver pond.

Purple clematis
its long-awned achenes
in globose heads
spidery, fiery, extravagant fruit!

To identify or classify
birds by
the complexity or beauty
of their songs.

And so
what is over that
ridge or hill
a sink-hole, a sand dune, a steep bluff.

2

What must I do. Organize
the heretofore unorganized. The rabble
of unemployed child abusers.
Molesters of their intimates.

Are there dysfunctional bird families?
Simply put, they do not survive.
We have hope
that everyone alive is essential,

consequential. We classify
and specify.
The commonplace and everyday
is sanctified.

What happens everyday?
Morning is quiet, everyone at work.
Home writing, watching birds.
Afternoon, kids come back from school.

Evening, watch tv.
Scotch and Star Trek.
Captain Picard's problems eclipse
ours who stayed behind.

3

Pray to Allah
and maybe he will spare you
when he sets the world
on fire.

Where or with who
will I be on that day?
And how many people and adventures
will I find in the wind storm and rubble?

I may live, but will it matter
whether or not I help anyone else to live?
This is no Last Judgement.
Those who have learned or who still know how to live

will survive.
Nobody will go to hell, they will just die.
There is no limbo either.
Anyone who didn't find a way to be immortal is just dead.

So, what am I trying to do.
Organize the unemployed, the welfare mothers
and alcoholics
into a flying chevron of purposeful explorers?

4

The doctor's conscious, organized,
naive attempt to do good,
his legacy, versus the randomness
of the road and the war zone.

There his legacy is his rectitude and natural
rough compassion for the damaged people
he encounters. The difference
between planning a legacy

as if you knew enough to control events
and letting the legacy arise
from events themselves, controlling,
insofar as you are able, only

your own actions and reactions.
The doctor's leadership role such as it was
grew out of not his material possessions
like the car

but his mission, his personal quest
to find the young doctors he had naively trained
and sent into the war zone
where all died.

5

July-a cold city
not as great or as gritty
as I thought, summer theater left
the shoe shine bereft of customers

eyes cold as a bureaucrat's
except for our soles
and their leather. Sweat-soaked
girls, the beautiful ones left town.

Emotionless as a bus.
Sparrows, no chickadees.
All that's important happens indoors.
Exercise to philosophies.

You get what you see.
The panhandlers ask
just once, won't risk
friendship, justice.

No sale today
in the finite city
where, for the shoe shine,
pedestrians are infinite, times two shoes.

6

Faith = wait + trust.
But don't anticipate.
Popper prohibits prediction.
Niebuhr expects destruction.

I believe in God
doesn't mean there's a sketch
of a man in my head. It must mean
all will be well in the end.

Satisfied with snow
or summer. And now
with dying old or younger.
Gold or paper clips. Gulps or sips.

In the final resting place
in the city of the dead
are there all night card games
and sometimes open swims?

Each inch, square, or cube of Earth
brim with grasses and sedges, dragonflies and spiders, sparrows and eagles.
The tiger lily and the water lily and the lily of the valley, the calla lily.
When a girl on a bicycle smiles, that is a smile.

Blinded, By The Light

If you can truly find yourself you can be truly happy
if not, well the world will eat you and beat you until you cry no more...
I see most people crying. Me, I ran out of tears and found myself the hard way.

I survived long enough to hear the Nightbird sing, a drunk rooster crow and
the coyote catch that damn roadrunner-in my dreams..
After that a light blinded me and within that blindness came a realization,
that three things are important - God, love and family.
All the rest is window dressing and leftover refried beans with no damn chili's...

Every morn that rising sun tells me , get up and be worthy of the air you breathe
Stand as tall as you can and never look down on a man unless extending a helping hand to him.
To do less is not only lazy but selfish and rude. Find a gift to give somebody, anybody at least every week if not every day. Does not have to be great , could be as easy as giving kind words when they are needed.

This was pretty much all told to me as a 10 year old by my grandfather. Some of it I picked up on my own after living a damn wild young life! With too many shallow relationships, broken hearts(including mine often) and more than a few real scars, all of which I came by honestly.

Now looking at the sunset I see rainbows just beyond the horizon. Each one has a pot of gold..
Methinks I will give that gold away and plant flowers in the pots to give to my wife.
And that folks is the wisdom sent in each ray of that blinding light I was blessed to have found!

Robert. J. Lindley , 04-19-2015

p.s.

Stay tuned in folks. I plan on another shameful confession coming soon..
Starting with my first bout of stealing a kiss from a pretty gal that I loved..
"Ain't life great"? If ya answered no then you had best get to really living!
You are either sleeping too much or not trying hard enough!
Drink your coffee hot , black and with gusto. If you just can not manage the gusto, a strong shot of good whiskey will do!

Whats happening to the world.
My brothers & sisters what happened to the spirit of ubuntu ( humanity)
What happened to " umntu ngumntu ngabantu" (A person is a person through other people)
I'm sure this is not what my father Nelson krolihlahla Mandela & my uncle Martin Luther King fought for
This is not what my grandparents fought for.
What happened to the saying it takes a nation to raise a child.
Do u like destroying the future generation, abusing our mothers & sisters.

On that cloudy weekend in June
I hear a soft and graceful tune
from the grey bird on the tree
branch
Singing sweet lullabies felt
blessed in the moment
My body tingles of joy at sight
Gazing out through
my open door,
Letting thoughts fly free
Releasing love out into the horizon
Heart filled with emotion came
over me
Grey bird stood playing its tune
for awhile and on the wings of
letting go
Then as the rain fell from the
sky the grey bird flew away
gracefully
I blew a kiss to the clouds and
utterd these simple words of I
Love You father ( who's now in
heaven ) and yet I hope to hear
that grey bird sing again once
more for me
Farewell, love your son

MUM ...

WHERE DO I START? I DON'T THINK THERE IS WORDS , TO EXPLAIN HOW I AM

FEELING ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOU... BUT I WILL USE ALL THE STRENGTH YOU HAVE

GIVEN TO ME , SO I CAN GET THESE FINAL WORDS OUT THE GUILT , SADNESS AND

REGRET FROM NOT SEEING YOU LIKE I WANTED TO SO ****ING MUCH ,

THEN THE PAIN OF NOT HAVING A CHANCE TO SAY "GOODBYE" TO THE MOST

BEAUTIFUL MOTHER COULD WANT, AND YES MUM I'M TALKING ABOUT YOUTO HOLD

YOUR HAND, TO SEE YOU SMILE , TO HEAR YOUR VOICE, WOULD MAKE MY LIFE MORE

WORTHWHILE. YOU TAUGHT ME HOW TO LIVE, BUT YOU NEVER TAUGHT ME HOW TO

LIVE WITHOUT YOU I MISS YOU SO SO MUCH MUM, BUT THE LOVE IN MY HEART FOR YOU , WILL MAKE SURE

YOUR LIFE , LOVE , WARMTH AND TOUCH , WILL LIVE ON FOREVER ,

IN ME I KNOW THAT YOU CHANGED ME , JUST FROM YOUR

PRESENCE...THATS'S HOW STRONG YOU WERE MUM I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T LEFT ME ,

FOR THE LOVE IN MY HEART REMAINS , YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO SUFFER AND YOUR

BODY WILL FEEL NO PAIN...... GOD TOOK YOUR HAND , AND MADE US PART , HE CLOSED

YOUR EYES , AND BROKE MY HEART ....FOR ALL THE TIMES WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER,

I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR FACE.

THERE IS NO MOTHER ANYWHERE LIKE YOU,

NO ONE COULD TAKE YOUR PLACE.

IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN YOU WERE LEAVING,

I GUESS I EXPECTED YOU TO FOREVER LAST,

ALL OF THE DREAMS OF US IN THE FUTURE,

ARE NOW BUT MEMORIES OF THE PAST.

GOD TAPPED YOU ON THE SHOULDER,

HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW,

THAT YOU WERE GOING WITH HIM,

TO THE SKY SO BEAUTIFUL BLUE.

ALTHOUGH I MAY NEVER SEE YOU MUM,

ARJAY WILL BE BY YOUR SIDE,

HE'S GONNA HOLD YOUR HAND,

AND LEAD THE WAY,

FOR HE WILL BE YOUR GUIDE.....

I LOVE YOU MY MOTHER.....
DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU UNDERSTAND,
DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU KNOW,
DON'T TELL ME THAT I WILL SURVIVE,
HOW I WILL SURELY GROW.
DON'T TELL ME THIS IS JUST A TEST,
THAT I AM TRULY BLESSED,
THAT I AM CHOSEN FOR THIS TASK,
APART FROM ALL THE REST.
DON'T COME AT ME WITH ANSWERS THAT CAN ONLY COME FROM ME,
DON'T TELL ME HOW MY GRIEF WILL PASS,
THAT I WILL SOON BE FREE.
DON'T STAND IN PIOUS JUDGMENT OF THE BONDS I MUST UNTIE,
DON'T TELL ME HOW TO SUFFER,
DON'T TELL ME HOW TO CRY.
MY LIFE IS FILLED WITH SELFISHNESS,
MY PAIN IS ALL I SEE,
BUT I NEED YOU,
I NEED YOU YOUR LOVE UNCONDITONALLY.
ACCEPCT ME IN MY UPS AND DOWNS,
I NEED SOMEONE TO SHARE,
JUST TO HOLD MY HAND AND LET ME CRY,
AND SAY, MY FRIEND I REALLY DO CARE
Mom you mean the world to me
It’s hard to live without you ,You were always by my side
Through thick and thin you helped me

I lean back,exulting at
your innovation and
achievements.
A dream come true-I
salute you.
   I salute your inventive
Mind.
   Paragon of excellence.
  An out-let for display of
emotions and feelings in
tangible form.
   Limitless quiver
housing the enlightened
expanding arrows.
   Your ship of knowledge
ferry talents from
obscurity to lime-light.
Giving preference to no
race or gender.
   I salute you sunlight of

GURU

So I sent an inviting email
To a bunch of Internet Women
Asking them to join me for lunch
Set my lonely heart to sail

My Yahoo Bell rang a Lady replied
Star Heart my new Love I sighed
Her photo my future Mediterranean Bride
Feelings unleashed Love’s flood tide

I read her profile
Intelligent, Funny, Spiritual
Loves the Water, Forest, Mountains
Italian Goddess with a Mona Lisa Smile

Raven Black Hair, Ruby Red Lips, Smooth Olive Skin
A body built for sin
I need to be in
But first...Her Mind...Her Soul...I must Win

I received a second email reply
She wrote I might be her type of guy
My photo did not make her cry
She wanted to know more about my Spiritual Side...Had I ever been to Mumbai

God is this woman for real
She loves Foreign Films...She is already making me squeal
Yoga...Spirituality...She can make my soul heal
This girl might be the real deal

I woke up the next day strangely sad
I checked my email a Star Heart new message was there
Her GURU suddenly died..She said she could not talk
She asked for a break to sort things out...This was Bad

My desire, my heart on fire...cooled
Her Spiritual Leader overruled
Again Love played me the Fool
Another Lesson learned at Heartbreak School

I said a prayer to her Guru asking if I am the one for his Chela
Will Love unite our two souls
Will we come together
Will I be her Special Fella

So I drank some of India’s finest Chenin Blanc and went to bed
I dreamt of the Guru who I thought was dead
I was frozen with fear as he approached me and placed his hand on my head
I turned to run but my legs were like lead

The Guru told me in my current Life I will never find a Woman's Love
Poets are cursed from birth
The only Love they can receive is from writing about Suffering and Loss
The wife you seek was never born...She is still above

I fell to my knees and begged the Guru please give me hope
I hate being a poet I only do it to save me from the rope
I am a coward writing is the only way I can cope
The Guru warned me to be careful too much Chenin Blanc will make me a Tope

The hope I give you now is for all mankind
Love everyone and everything
Take no day for granted
Explore Spirituality and a Higher Power so your soul, body and mind will learn to be
kind

Then the Guru struck my face and I awoke
This dream nightmare was no joke
The Guru wore a purple and yellow mourning cloak
Maybe I need more Chenin Blanc to give my soul and mind a good soak

Will I have been standing on the sidelines, watching everyone go after their goals. I been missing out on the finer things that life has to offer. Seeing you there reminds me of brighter days. Hearing your laughter, reminds me of the day my dreams all changed.

‘Cause, I been blessed, wouldn’t change it for the world. Nothing sweeter than you. You’re that shining star, the beacon at sea. I thank the good lord for giving me you, nothing can change the love I have for you.

Will I have been standing on the sidelines, watching everyone have their fun. Now its later, you can see them down an out.

‘Cause, I been blessed, with having you as a daughter. You lifted my heart higher, each day I see you. You’re that shining star, the beacon at sea.

If I was a sailor, I would hurry home to you. Can’t get enough of that laughter, don’t like seeing a frown on your face.

Will I been standing on the sidelines, watching everyone reach to the stars. When I have one right here. Yes, I been standing on the sidelines.

I look at this world, and nothing can change my mind. There be trouble on the horizon, terrible times ahead. People getting hurt, always sad an blue. I put them in prayer as with everyone.

‘Cause, I been blessed, with writing these words. A pure melody, straight an narrow, they are flowing like a stream. Nine in the morning, an everything is going to be alright.

‘Cause, I been blessed, with this life. Wouldn’t to change it, wouldn’t to lose it. I would love to share, so here I sit writing these words.

Oh, I got a melody running through my head, as I write these words. Sounding like country, maybe its an oldie. But none the less, its pure straight from the heart.

Flowing like a river, steady as a stream. Let it span out there, like the clouds in the sky. Showing everyone in the world, that I got this love for them. My heart is being true, it is solid. This thing is flowing like a river, steady as a stream. Nothing rocky bout this love of mine.

‘Cause, I been blessed, with having a daughter - who is just like you…

‘Cause, I been blessed.
‘Cause, I been blessed..
‘Cause, I been blessed…

The masked intruder burst through my front door.
While exiting a window, I heard pops.
He missed, but he pursued me as I fled.
Without my cell, I couldn’t call the cops.

Fear moved my legs; prayer led me to a place
to hide. From my safe vantage point I saw
him re-enter my house. He robbed me blind.
I wrote of this when feelings were still raw.

Written by D. W. Breidenthal

You take my breath away

I wanna stay in this entrancing paradise
I want all of the negativity to fade away
The darkness isn’t my property…I despise
Living a life that’s filled with misperception and disaster

I would love to live in the ocean’s ecstasy
That would be spectacular if we can abide in the sparkly sea

This eccentric dilemma makes your angelic features too unclear
It chills me to the bone…
My heart pounds with hope and fear… when will peace draw near
This flawless wish remains unknown

The night’s approaching…seek shelter and light
Painstaking regrets – I can’t back away from gravity’s pull
Hand me the rope and don’t bestow your burdens upon my soul
Sift away the misfortune and allow me to put up with the fight
Help me fulfill my flawless wish
And I’ll strip away your anguish

You’re a burning candle
I raise my head up from the mud
I step forward with courage that I couldn’t handle
On my own, but you stripped away the agony
Watch us grow and sprout as one flower bud!

You took my heart to a wonderful place
I wanna desert this decaying body of mine and seek you in splendid light
You forgave me for my wrongs…you thrilled me with praise
I wanna embrace the dawn’s incredible, appealing light...
Sweeping away the deploring night

It soothes my sensitive heart…dismissing my vexing misery

I have the urge to repaint the breathtaking memories I’ve spent with you
Will it scratch away the sorrow?
I have to search for shelter and burn away our calamity – slaying us with rue

Will my flawless wish store hope for tomorrow?

I weep for your sweet hand to be mine
if only your enticing lips gave a sign
Sun rise, I wake only to think of you
yet you baby, never give me that cue
I weep for your sweet hand to be mine
your curves and my motor do so fine
Each night, my dreams wrap me in you
yet you my darling, have not a clue

I weep for your sweet hand to be mine
to just touch you my heart does pine
You give, my soul a reason to believe
yet you baby, my love can not conceive
Shall I plead my case on bended knees
Buy a huge mansion give you the keys
Spend millions on even more treasure
steal the night stars to gift you pleasure

I weep for your sweet hand to be mine
my prayer, cries love you in every line
Hear me cry, a desperate would be lover
my hot desires, beauty you may discover
Baby, let me stroke your every desire
burn this world down, lighting that fire
Burn the flames hotter than any candle
I have so much, more than you can handle

I weep for your sweet hand to be mine
a night of dancing, roses and red wine
This big world, yours just for the asking
In your light, my love shall be basking

Just do what ever you think if you must,
Cause with you there can be no trust.
Faith and love is what you must learn,
It is something you must go out and earn.
Respect and understanding is how you must start,
To keep a love from completely falling apart.
If Joy and Happiness is what you seek ,
Then be strong and true it will be yours to keep.
Kindness and compassion is a good rule to follow,
It will bring brighter days for al your tomorrows .
Love as if it were the last day of your life,
Try caring with open arms and do not fight .
This life is precious if there is someone to love ,
Try to remember that it is a gift from above.

I long to write a silent song;

ringing resonant rising
round revolving reach,
risk relaxing riots,
quiet storming streams,
sentient string
waiting your
our
sharing story,

advent's adventure
deep despair diving
diastolic drifting
out beyond sonorous sea seasons
sweeping flight to gather might,
speaking slyly deep
down steaming volcanoed channels
reaching roots of listening
into Earth's core climate confluent-soul.

Speak, justly shout enchanting contention
churning charry content,
informating reasons
fine-purposed political meanings
boiling funnel tipping
turning spinning
spilling waves of Tao balance
revolving temperamental climatic cross,
straining yang from West to East
reversing yin from East to West
like longing lingering
loitering within belonging
becoming being
yin's right spins left
good's evil space
wrestling with voices
murmuring
pulsing
massaging rhythm's blood flows
flying frequencies
echoing past identities
of storms still-dancing
through memory's veins
and river swollen
spring's raucous roaring
songs singing silence

I long to write.

Walking away might be the most hardest things for a man to do, you cant even imagine what that feeling can do to you. Falling flat on your face would be better than to look shameful, even walking around naked around the streets would be cool. But like any story in life goes, there is always that one person that will help you get back on your feet and walk again. No matter how much you fall, no matter how much you stumble upon a struggle, that person will be there with you till the end. Give love and thanks to this person who never leaves your side and helps you put a smile on your face everyday. When the day comes to an end and you know that the person has to go, all you can wish is for your special person to stay. Mine has walked away on me, I was so blind that i couldn't see. She wanted everything for her self, for me to change and be what she wanted me to be, but i had to let her go and never see this person again, cause it would only be worse in the end. Writing this is more painful than getting your body tattooed, writing this is more painful than getting over screwed. Writing this is more painful than words, writing this is more painful than razor sharp swords. No matter how much you try to let it out it just wouldn't come out, the pain is way to deep and its almost like its tattooed on your bodies gout. haven't i been hurt enough in this world, i just don't understand why i am being treated like this, is it cause i am better than you and have nothing to look forward too but my blue and black handkerchief? The cut was way to deep my dear, you just cant imagine, i have been cut and bruised for the last time, i can promise you that. No one will ever touch this body or hurt this soul ever again, if you wish to try so, go ahead and check it, but before that go ahead and get yourself a casket.

I beg for your forbearance
For I have disregarded my faith towards You
I beg for your healing in advance
For I have disclaimed Your protection and now I’m blue

Do you notice that I’m blanketed in deep distress?
My pillow is soaked externally with unsettling tears
My good memories that bestowed hopefulness
Has been meddled with for years
Has been mistreated and replaced by insecure dreadfulness
I need shelter from the tide of despairs and fears

I’m shattered and I’m seeking Your helping hand
Receive my hushed prayer…from your throne in heaven
I’m begging for Your contentment that’s beyond grand
Receive my muffled prayer… or I’ll be stuck in this tarnished den

Do you notice that I’m spinning mad in the rivers of mystifying visions?
My unwavering boat sinks drastically with damaged gears
My bad memories that departed from my missions
Has been discarding the carefree years
Has been neglected and torn apart by dishonorable decisions
I need Your love to embrace me with jubilation and cheers
I beseech for Your mercy
For I have abused my steadfast hope towards You
I look forward to Your infinite Kingdom favorably
For I have admired Your blessings and now my dreams come true!
In Jesus’s name,

AMEN!

My brain is blocked
The words have flown from me
Walls are built around my thoughts
So none can sneak away
Oh help me please
I beg of thee
Free my thoughts
So words can flow from me
Writing is how I cope
Words are all I know
I can not release the stress in me
Unless my words can be
Set free

I thank you Lord for life,

 health,and strength.

I pray for the haters,

Who think they have me bent.

I love you Lord with all of my,

Heart, my mind, and my soul.

I know that even if I strive,

To live right and allow you

To rule my life, then all of

My battles for me you'll fight

And win. I will then see

You and I'll walk the paved

Streets of gold in Heaven.

I pray that each day,

I help someone to come,

Your way. I love you Lord,

To express it there's not

Enough to say.

Jabez's prayer is recited from
The side of the refrigerator
Near a magnet from last summer's
Vacation bible school
Early morn and the quiet
Is interrupted by myriad birds chirping
The rumble of a refuse truck robotically
Empties the dumpster from the front
Passing cars creak and whoosh
Mrs. Garza's nightlight clicks off
Automatically the day begins
Entangled with snores
The ice maker gives birth
The central air unit cycles on
Announcing the cool air needed
For a going to get hotter day
A distant dog barks
The muse is crashed by the
Stumbling into the room
Cabinets creak open and the
Electric can opener growls
Open a can of syrupy tangerines
smackingly devoured while the spoon
Scrapes against the metal
Ancient civilizations are described
As the now too loud television alters
The air waves
Then the national anthem waves
A train whistles pass
As does the morn
And the mood broken
Or enhanced by a reality
Of sneezes and snorts

Writing is a form of prayer, the writer makes with his pen.
He puts it to paper,
 and lets it all go
When writing there is no time,
  no space,
 everything stands still,
 while the writer writes.
Why does he write ?
 Why do you not pray?
To have someone to hear your inner most thoughts to look for answers,
 to ask for help ,
 to let go ,
to just get it out.
Sometimes he writes out of anger,
 sometimes out of loss,
others its out of desperation ,
 sometimes its just because .
Now the writer writes in hopes
that the answer will be come clear .
He knows all he has to do is wait long enough,
 and it will appear.
But what say you of those who do not write ?
Are they lost, broken or just forgotten ?
No, they are not lost, broken or forgotten
instead of bringing down the pen to paper ,
They choose to speak their silent prayer
But one thing is for sure
Paper and pen
Hands clasped and kneeling
Someone, somewhere,
 has heard your silent prayer
