How far can you fall and get back up
How high can you jump
And keep your feet in the sand

To touch grace and fall from within
Next to you I was out of my skin
I missed you yesterday and you leave tomorrow

A life spent in the shadows of lushly tint
Smoke your waves
Exhale the freshness of your menthol scent
Home is what you call shelters that need no defense

I’ll send
You’ll say goodbye
I’ll send again
You won’t reply

If love
Is the appreciation of another’s existence
Then goodbye
Is the anticipation of seeing you again

You and I, we’ll cruise the shores
Together we’ll settle with the wind
The joy of a small hut, a lovers den

You’ll send
I’ll wonder why
You’ll send again
I will not reply

Invisible ladies! You see them ev’rywhere,
In sensible raincoats and Margaret Thatcher hair.
Standing at bus-stops, watching the bus go by:
Waiting at crossings,
Letting the traffic splatter mud in their eyes …

Invisible ladies, all in their “middle years”.
Invisible ladies:
No hopes, but so many fears …

   SO polite! So ladylike!
   Just don’t mind us, don’t make a fuss … Wouldn’t be right …
But deep inside, there’s such a rage …
You’ll catch it too, this vanishing plague
   Called MIDDLE AGE!

Invisible ladies … shopping bags all akimbo:
Moving like zombies, each in her private limbo.
Pushing a trolley at ASDA or Sainsbury:
Examining prices,
Searching for bargains – ever more desp’rately …

Invisible ladies, choosing the longest queue …
The one with the baby:
Babies, they’re visible to …

   SO polite! So ladylike!
   Just don’t mind us, don’t make a fuss … Wouldn’t be right …
But deep inside, there’s such a rage …
You’ll catch it too, this vanishing plague
   Called MIDDLE AGE!

Invisible ladies! When somebody barges by,
Instead of complaining, they always apologise!
They oughta get angry, and maybe get pushy too:
Say, “HEY! Look AT me!
See, I’m a PERSON, really very like you!”

Invisible ladies, everyone knows one …
They live in our houses …
You probably call yours “MUM!”

(This is an anthem for all fifty-somethings - Chaps too!)

EVENING FAIR (sing to Scarborough Fair)

Crust of bread and strawberries red
Cheese and wine will go to your head
And when you dance the room becomes magic
Step and whirl at Blithe County Fair

Warm the night with bright crescent Moon
Fiddles three an old Spanish tune
Sweet Greta Lee has captured my fancy
Step and whirl at Blithe County Fair

Youth and Eros moment of bliss
Rose glow her cheeks I offer a kiss
Though so demure she yields to temptation
Found my true love at Blithe County Fair

Tears running down her cheek
So many hurtful words
So many left unsaid
Eyes swollen with the agony of his memory.

Life:
A horrific nightmare
Feelings:
Dead to all
Heart:
Broken to pieces
She's fragile and ready to fall.

Eyes dripping with sadness
Her heart growing colder than ice
Out the window and into the night
Swearing the last tears were cried.

Life:
A horrific nightmare
Feelings:
Dead to all
Heart:
Broken to pieces
She's fragile and ready to fall.

Losing control of all emotions
Sanity slipping from her fingers
Wanting memories of him to leave
Wishing the pain would wash away.

Life:
A horrific nightmare
Feelings:
Dead to all
Heart:
Broken to pieces
She's fragile and ready to fall.

The Lyrical man of passion’s sacred song,
Gave his heart away to the Caribbean Queen,
In the fine crystal glasses of fine champion of desires lust,
Did he so drown, beneath the frothy waves of the tropical sun?
In the morning’s sweet rising, this poetic bard shed the tenderest
Of sun kissed tears, that melted in the heat of the hot horizons
Blazing oceanic dream.
Yet within this love sick heart he thus bleeds, eloping words
Of devotion from the farthest shores beyond, but the enchantress
Seductress dances the island waltz of the erotic, softly he sings
Unto this maiden tan and most fair, I’m here for thee, but
She does not hear the verses of this lyric man, passing him
By for a Jamaican band.
For no thumping drum, can beat the rheum of his heart,
Or the strumming of sensation’s that burn within his soul,
In raptures pleasure a raging voice echoes unto paradise
Lost, a thundering hurricanes proclamation, come home
To me my tropical princess, but in silences response,
Lies nothing except deafness silence, rippling across
The distant waves of sorrow.
What angel dethroned from heaven’s grace,
Caused loves sweet arrow to aim so wrongly,
Hitting this misaligned target dead on sight,
With regrets folly the only true outcome.
Oh do the island sirens so weep for him,
This Lyric man, who’s loving torch burns
Within the sands of pleasures betrayal.
Light as the feathers of angels does his
Song ring out, enchanting mermaids even
To rise from the fathoms deepest depth,
Splashing sea form at this temptress of
Faded illusions, yet still she responds
With empty sighs of rebukes disconnect.
He sits still on isolation's stage, playing
A melodies soft tune of lost eloquence,
This music man of thoughts passionate heart.
Silvery strains of diamond perils glisten upon
Briliances waves, shinning beneath the tropical
Sun, laying on top of the big blues surf, these
Are his tears of devotions everlasting love,
Connecting his heart to this his Caribbean Queen.

RAP TUNE:

Kung alaala'y magawi, sa iyo oh Irog,
Ang ngiti sa labi'y, sariwang hamog,
Matamis, malinaw, at isang biyaya,
Ng bukang liwayway, sa damong linga.

Pumapawi sa uhaw nitong yaring puso,
Tanggal ang init ng damdaming paso,
Sapagkat sa tuwinang, ika'y nasa isipan,
Naiibsan tong, mapait na kalungkutan.

-**Kuro
LYRICAL:
Sapat na ang alaala mo sinta
Pumawi sa lungkot ng pagiisa
Dasal bawat araw sana’y bukas ng
Kapiling ka….

Sapat ng isipin ka’t imaginin,
Upang matahimik isip kong napapraning,
Walang sandaling nagmukmok alam kong
Ika’y sa kin……
-***Katapusan ng Kuro

RAP TUNE:
Ang tanging galak, na hihigit lamang,
Gamogamong ako'y, sa iyo madarang,
Mahagkan, mayakap, at aking madama,
Ang init ng iyong, taos pusong kalinga.

Malungkot man ang gabing di ka katabi,
Hanap man ang iyong malalambot na labi,
Hangad man ng balikat ang iyong ulunan,
Ang blankong tingin may lagi sa kawalan...

Lagi mong tatandaan....
...Sa puso't isipan lagi kang nandiyan.

***Ulitin ang Kuro

RAP TUNE:
Nagpapalakas, bigay inspirasyon...
Nagpapatapang, tanggap hamon...
Gabay na liwanag, katahimikan....
Kapayapaan....sa magulong isipan.

Pagmamahal sa iyo ang tanging katotohanan...
Abot hangang LANGIT..Maalab.....Sukdulan!!!

I will find you one day,
I will meet you someday,
I will want it to stay,
Oh how I will pray,
For what to say,
On that day,
I will want to be shy,
And make it look like a try,
Maybe I'll just smile,
Maybe I'll just cry,
A little,
Like a baby,
I wont look into your eyes,
I wont look into the skies,
I'll hide like a spy,
Behind my feelings,
I'll draw in the dirt,
With my feet,
The love I can't speak,
I'll express in my shyness,
A difference of boldness,
A beautiful form of timidness,
That would leave you speechless,
But if you speak,
If you say something,
If you say anything,
I will run,
As fast as I can,
Out of myself,
The shell of disguise,
I will cut your speech,
With a gentle kiss,
And let you know,
That it was your beauty,
That took me away,
Your warm presence,
That froze me again,
That thing,
That is in your eyes,
That makes men....
DUMB...

I reminisce by this railway siding pond,
Musing on rail relics rattling on,
Recalling lives and times bygone,
But memories of their shades linger on,
The lonesome call of distant steam trains,
Eras that may never come our way again,
I see they're gone nowhere in particular,
Replaced by planes and transport vehicular,
I imagine queues on foggy platforms,
Awaiting the misted trains' shadow forms,
Standing by, expecting the status quo,
I blink my eyes, where did they all go?
Looking backwards along yesterday's tracks,
I'm no kid any more, get off my back,
I reflect and reminisce,
Nostalgia is for the past we miss,
I'll reminisce by the railway siding pond,
I recall the times and lives bygone,
As rail relics keep rattling on......

Web wise

The fear drops from its light brown wings;
this is not home; at least not for a bird.
Little sparrow flaps its wings in madness;
flaps them so hard. Living room, staircase,
it is humming past your mute chair.
But how can you help, you cannot locate
your own way out of this golden web.

Could it be you who's in my mind
flirting like a leaf in summertime
or is this merely an illusion,
or a dream deep in my past?

I hear the music from the sky
flow with a sad face in my mind
and it is coming all the while,
could it be you who's in my mind?

i used to live in sin...this old sinner couldn't win
i used to live in mis-er-y
till one day i got taught...and now i count the cost
cause i know i'm glorybound i'm free

chorus 1x-yes i know i'm glorybound i can hear those holy sounds
yes i know i'm glorybound i'm free
once blind and bound and lost...i couldn't count the cost
now i know i'm glorybound i'm free

i used to live in fright...terror filled my darkest nights
the devil lived inside my dreams
until i saw the light...now i know my masters might
cause i know i'm glorybound i'm free

chorus 1x

i used to live in pain...full of sorrow full of shame
i used to live in a-go-ny
until i called His name...now i'm rescued and redeemed
cause i know i'm glorybound i'm free

chorus 2x end

If these fields I see
are ones of my heart.
Then, I say is true.

If the truth I hold
is the one you know.
Then, I say is real.

If reality brings you
to me as mine.
Then, I say is love.

If love is you,
true are these fields.
Then, I say you are real.

You are my heart.

Buhangin sa iyong balikat,
mula sa pagkakadapa,
Maiitim na markang iyong nakikita,
Di ba bumangon ka?

Di nga bat pinakita mo
ang tapang mong totoo?
Ng ngumiti ka lamang
sa galit ng mundo

Harapin ang pagsubok
Gabutil man oh gabundok
Pagkakaisa ng pananalig
Pusot isipay masigasig

CHORUS 1
Ng mawala ka sa panalangin
Mong malalim at taimtim
Dun mo nakita,
Nun nadama
Sa buhay kailanma’y di ka magiisa
Pagkat kasama mo siya
Palad mong magkadaop
Mga matang nakatiklop
Pagtawag mo…. Kapayapaan sa Puso
END OF CHORUS 1

kaliwa’t kanang sampal ng trahedya
matinding gutom ng sikmura
Sa gitna ng alinlangan
Di bat pumito ka lamang?

Lalim ng ngisi’y makahulugan,
Ininit na ng hulmahan,
Ng hipan mong papalayo,
Ang buhawi ng tukso

Dilim man o init ng araw
Wag kang bibitaw
Samot saring abala,
Sa tikas mo’y di uubra

CHORUS 2
Ng mawala ka sa panalangin
Mong malalim at taimtim
Lakas ay nabuhay
Ang puso’y tumibay
Sa sagupa at laban ng iyong buhay,
Pagkat kapiling mo siya,
Palad mong magkadaop
Mga matang nakatiklop
Pagsamo mo….. Gabay ng iyong mundo
END OF CHORUS 2

Habol mo ang iyong hininga,
Sa pagbubuhos ng lakas,
At ng maging talunan,
Di ba’t tumango ka lang?

Sa gitna ng pagkutya,
Kamao ba ang sandata?
Ng ialay mot ilahad,
Sa mabuti mong hangad

Sa laro man o sa buhay,
Lagi kang maging pantay,
Ilang beses ka mang mabigo,
Ang tulad mo’y di susuko

REPEAT CHORUS 1 THEN
CHORUS 2

"Outside the city where the pomegranates grow..."
In solitude, my soul bloomed alone,
A spiritual journey I pondered on,
For the world, I saw a giant pond,
I prayed for blessings, with a magic wand,
Deliverance from our virtual Armageddon,
From then on, I was not alone,
Collective blessings bloomed at home,
Outside the city where the pomegranates grow,
In solitude, my soul bloomed alone......

What's the worst that could happen to us,
don't count getting hit by a bus.
I feel so drunk that I fell off the sub.
I am not the same.
So mad I set fire to the pub.
You are never to blame.

It was atlantic beach I went
In search of pearls and cowries
Sad, to voidness I return:
I do not see him, Dave my Lyric Man.
My darling Dave,
Wherever you may be today
Roam not the street when it snows
Lest you soak your feet in it
Snow - yawning hungry morgue-
And coil not like millipede
Nor condense like wintery butter
But remember your warm cafe cup
And that fair lady you used to write about
Drink and bounce and bounce .

you were never in love
with me except for that feeling
that burst through your cock and crowed for
me at dawns break and alarmed all but
a saint and allowed room for fashion
at a reasonable rate
coupled with all of your expression and crippling indecision
the catacombs of your whys fevering the attempts
to boiling points and highs cooling them with
distance and neglected penmanship
weak correspondence as decayed as starvation
amidst the famine
burning deep inside my loins
growth further inside my womb
desire deeper than my mind
and all tormented by your words or lack there of
your worthy less than soul to speak any kinder
than capable of sewn
to my death I take with thee the promise
of a note left untold.

Family photographs.
Pictures of youth,
All smiling happily,
Hiding the truth …
Grandads at work,
Grandmas in rocking chairs.
Dads in their gardens,
Mums, taken unawares …

Pinholes in the fabric of time.

Aunties and uncles,
Siblings and cousins;
Some of them all alone,
Others by the dozen …
Summers by the sea,
Weddings, holidays.
Winters by the fire,
Birthdays, school-days …

Pinholes in the fabric of time.

Faces familiar.
Faces we’ll never know.
Some who are still around:
Others, now shadows …
On little scraps of paper,
Monochrome and misty,
A Mum sees her life …
But her children see history …

Pinholes in the fabric of time …
Pinholes in the fabric of time.

Taking in the air.
Living for the moment.
Undressing this wicked witch,
called "life."
Just searching for the truth in her.
The power to motivate,
and manipulate
has me believing
I make this earth quake.

My compulsion for chaos
has become my way to escape.
Previous struggles linger.
Thinking all my faults
are at my own cost.
Leading my life like I'm the only boss.
Struggling with this paradox...

I’ve looked back
Remembering days
And the ways
Our voices persistently sway…
like the branches

And the nights—
Recalling the bright city
Lights
Upon the sidewalks
We told ourselves
We’d walk

But never did

The quiet that followed
It was the least expected

And I was waiting for the crickets
To end this tongue-tied trance

The summer faded
Crickets killed by frost
An endless trance,
That I had never lost

And it all returned one day
Just to be up and taken away
Determined I stand
To return to that land
We’ve discovered.

The crickets never came

IN sync
with how I think
twinkling eyes
reveal a provoking mind
inside
moving slowly
tempting the word
you heard
I speak quickly
extinguish your thought
No!
I know but no!
I'm not ready to
be at ease with you
to sink your meddling
fingers into my skin
caressing me gently
hmmmm....
No!
I know but ....no!
I'm not ready for you
to tell me about
your day,
to introduce me to new,
igniting my passions with touch.
Too much....no!
I know... but...nnnooo!
I'm not ready for pain to be erased
and you being the reason.
I'm not ready for
sentimental thoughts
on paper
accented with a
kaleidoscope of colours.
A scent for each hue
You know I'd love....
No!
I'm not ready to release my grip...
take a sip of my divine
A sign for you
I have not resigned.
No....no resignation.

The sounds of the rain
whisper to me, a sonet of water angels.
As I watch it flow,
a song of happiness and sadness
comes to mind.
The voices harmonize
in perfect melody,
getting attention from the
invisible notes.
The gentle swaying
of its calm solace relaxes me.
The loudness of thunder
awakens my relaxation.
But, as I focus more on
the sonet,
my relaxation returns
with great quietude.
I have fallen into a deep slumber and
so I end.

Walking down the street
With a wiggle in her hip,
I wonder,
Is she the one?

Panting to catch her
Before the door closes,
The trail of perfume
Enticing my senses.
I wonder,
Is she the one?

Is she the one
To take my hand,
The one to make my life?
Oh, how grand,
If she'd be mine!
I wonder...

Across the room
She turns and smiles,
Stopping me in my tracks.
A grin splits my face, and
I wonder; Am I the one?

Then from behind me
Steps a man,
Suave in his suit and tie,
Her arms reaching,
Enfolding him close.
I wonder no more,
If she's the one.

I leave, with my heart
In my hand,
Noting other guys
Like me,
They had all wondered;
Was she the one?

I answer aloud,
For the broken hearts,
That didn't even make it
To first base,
Except for that one
Lucky guy.
Now, all our hopes dashed,
Because the answer was;
She'll never be the one for us.

I, I made a big mistake of letting you go,
Yeah I know.
Your so much happier now.
When your laughing,
I am crying cause
I have to think of you
Kissing her and hugging her
And just being next to her,
Holding her.
I wish I was there
Holding you and kissing you.
But I guess I was so dumb I let you go,
I know,
That I broke you into a thousand pieces.
And I know I was dumb enough to let you go.
I through your stuff on the floor.
I remember the days so clearly,
And then I knew that I lost you,
Cause I had a ridiculous fit over something
so, so stupid.
I should've of known that you didn't cheat,
but I was too stupid.
I thought you did
I thought you were cheating when you weren't
when you weren't,
when you weren't.
I was dumb, I was stupid
I know

I am a true contemporary
who knows how to acceptably

write a poem. First with a tangible
aroma of burnt toast, I will run on

my imaginary couplets like a stroke
victim of the modern prejudices.

(Strophe’s choice is put aside, and
Iamb not going to count my feet.)

Once cute, most common figures of speech have
worn out their fashion like poorly matched metaphors.

(Do not rhyme, remember, do not rhyme,
as you wax nostalgic for some childhood time… damn!)

Pent up pentameter oozes with therapeutic
confessionals that spring or dance or likewise

incongruently twist uncomfortably on the page,
while conjuring an image both shamefully personal

and embarrassingly boring from a tourist’s slide show
or the shoebox full of faded, classic Polaroids.

Sardonically satiristic, I’ll reach-around to reference
an obscurely erudite portrait of some saint, like

Christina The Astonishing’s flight into the rafters
of the church to avoid the stink of her own kind.

And at the end of a turbulent typhoon of irregular lines
washing deeply into the recesses of nowhere in particular,

I will, after too long a time, finally and hopefully declare:
une mule morte sur les clefs du piano.

Self satisfied, I’ll end my rant -- non sequitur but unchallenged…
or would you prefer a tantalizing inquiry of you, Dear Reader?

Control your fear,
and know where you are going,
from here.
Touch the raging sea,
and let the waters rise.
Touch the sky,
and open your eyes.
Let God take you there,
through the skies so fair.
Touch the desert sands,
and take God's hand.
Sing praises to His name,
it means everything.
Touch the big wide open shy,
and let your praises rise.

There ain't no need to argue
and there ain't no need to fight
cause there'll always be a wrong
and there'll always be a right
We need some compromising
gotta try and understand
there'll always be two sides
so offer up your hand

You were saying to me
that I shouldn't do it that way
But I believed i could
and who are you to say
I was telling you
that I know what to do
and you just smiled and said
Well i know that too

There ain't no need to argue
and there ain't no need to fight
cause there'll always be a wrong
and there'll always be a right
We need some compromising
gotta try and understand
there'll always be two sides
so offer up your hand

A long long time ago
we wouldn't of argued at all
I believed in all I was told
set myself up for a fall
What we learn is our lives
they change, as do our views
our perceptions of yesterdays
may just be old news

There ain't no need to argue
and there ain't no need to fight
cause there'll always be a wrong
and there'll always be a right
We need some compromising
gotta try and understand
there'll always be two sides
so offer up your hand
