Like A Girl

I play like a girl, I hit like a girl
You say I throw like a girl,
And, when I run -- I run like a girl!
All that plus more, enjoy this one size fits all

Who and what I want comes from being strong
Classy and fabulous,
THIS is my song!

I've been told, cut to size
The world dark and gray, when life becomes an insult
Take heed when I speak my mind,
I am tough, outstanding and beautiful!

Move ahead --- say it twice, I smell nice
A taste of Cool Water and Justice Perfume
I have a non-stop multitask fixation
Like a woman, everything about me is hidden
Magic and alluring the only joy in sexuality you'll need

I'm empowering this moment!
Endorsing Myself, with a certain sorta mystique
I deliver an independent will,
     don't ever underestimate my physique

I am a caregiver, a female who won't give up the fight
I remain firm and believe all women have equal rights
I walk and talk Like A girl
wearing heels Breaking the sound of Annabel

       Like, Mona's unforgettable smile,
I stand tall Like Miss Liberty
       I am, Betsy Ross, America's #1 designer
            Harriet, who escaped slaver-y
Like Theresa and Mary, I'm here to give change
I am, Hilary overwhelmed with determination
       A leader -- A Goddess, I burn like Joan
       ---Cleopatra in the room
       ---Calamity Jane's wild side
       Emelia's, won't give up heart
I am Anne, with a secret hidden spot
Susan B, with the right to vote
Emily who writes deep and pretty

The sound In your eyes aren't listening!
You imagine I am weak -- not strong enough -- brave enough,
You call me different and difficult!
Still, you want my warmth -- my love -- my attention

I am not less, I am more
I am a woman -- I frown -- I cry -- I hurt and yell at the universe
Nevertheless, I make a difference
Like a girl, I smile
A smile never seen or felt before, both defined and undefined
Your heart will ask and implore for more

Like a girl, I'll drive you wild, looking pretty "You're In Love!"
My Self confidence comes from who I am deep inside
Everything I've become follows the makeup on my face
Bare and nude, I am the Madonna flowering the mood

At the end of every day, I have one other thing to say
The Next Time You ask me to cook and clean
Because you think, I belong in the kitchen
You better believe I'm doing it my way
LIKE A GIRL

----------------------------------
Take My Hands
I Offer Them To You
Hold Them Tight
Never Let Them Go!!!
---------------------------------

~MY HANDS~

With all the time on my hands
I gave my hands one job.
 My Hands -The Artist-

My hands paint everything in my life
they paint my weakness, my strength
they paint the fire in my eyes
they hold me when I'm cold
When I need them the most,

Like an architect, my hands colored my childhood,
In one touch they drew the plans and layouts of my life.
My hands *very articulate, are they?*
They continue to sew and show the way
Sometimes, my hands paint the truth
Sometimes, my hands paint lies
--- Painting hurtful images on drywall
My palms, my fingers embedded calluses from every fall
Creating images, healing my heart
Sometimes my hands are the only friend I see.

With no words to say
I caress the sky like a mime
My hands ride the wind,
My hands paint the world,

Young and pretty fingerprints
They feel, they hold, they grip
Don't let go!

Clever and cute
It's time for motherhood
My hands painted your first hold
Traced your first smile
A painting I treasure in my heart
Yes! A Rembrandt they became during birth
Now you're all grown up...:-(
Embarrassed to embrace the hold
One day when I'm old,
you will hold my hands and remember the gold.

My hands paint designs when it comes to love
sometimes a masterpiece
sometimes a mistake
sometimes my hands feel images I can't describe
Handicap moments when lost
--- My hands perfect when in love
They write songs when complete
So many interlock moment with you
Firm, the perfect match, my fingers spoke.

My hands -The Artist- they've been told!!!
Held so many times,
always meeting, greeting,
waving hello's and goodbyes...
((you see my hands, they smile too))

Painful, arthritis, cuts, bruises
pinching my way through reality.
Reaching holding on to dreams
clapping, snapping fingers, we are a team.

My hands age in every turning page
Shriveled and old
Still you embrace and love the hold
My hands touch and made a difference,
my hands employed by me!
My hands give and pray
Right and Left, they know their duty!
When they are bored, they tap-tap
and draw THAT annoying noise.

My hands know secrets, a fortune teller can't reveal
they hold the past, present, and future in every line.

I extend my hands, without flipping the bird
Thank you, Hands, I enjoy a good sign language show!

In my next life, or so, I will praise my hands
Yes so beautiful, tender, they love to feel.......

My Hands -The Artist-
I can't believe with all the time on my hands,
I forgot to mention I'm left-handed.

-Escape of the mountain-

Do you care about my breast?
The new curve - countryside corset.
The beauty of every summer dress
Laying down, wearing out gravity
Embracing the same feeling; Your
hands indulged in. Passion and devotion,
around perfumed scenery...
     The perfect pair

Today we will pray,
Counting every second on the clock
No longer the womanly figure before'
I will possess a new battle,
around the virtues of my palace.

-Will you still be there,
when the hump and lump are gone?
-Will I still be the queen of your heart?
Patiently I shall wait and see,
in hopes to gain the time, breast cancer stole
Leaving behind torn tissue, with a daily reminder of;
The one that got away.

The Swan

Feathers floating in the wind
Perform in slow motion,
Each drift into the shadows of yesterday
She is not me -- She is not you!

A theme, upon a morning crystal view.
She truly is the wind
She is like the sun
She is as beautiful as the moon
She is the magic in your eyes.

On this night,
-She sits on the calm waters of your reflection.
Creating love, to the vows of life
She listens and counts the rhythm in the stars
She is a thief who stole every breath before
And Still---
She is the breeze
The tranquil sound, in every perfect pitch
The gleam in your eyes.

In you, she sees the ocean
Swims with open confidence
Together love holds on to every tide
Every feather kept dry and warm
- during the perfect storm -
Her wings ache with pain
That is why!
She is the essence of beauty and grace
She is the reason to smile
She is the flame
She is everything in your eyes.

Graceful feathers in the wind.
To dream the dreams of the awakened
She might just be me, she might just be you!
"Till Death Do We Part."

“Swans”
-the symbols of everlasting love-

~Summer’s Eve ~

I am a woman!
I am proud-

I am everything you want.
Plus more
The adoring wife,
A beautiful mother,
A grandmother a granddaughter
A daughter, a sister,
A lover, the aunt.
Your enemy, your friend.
I am the working lady.
A widow left behind.

  I AM!
The Spawn of Adam's rib-

  I AM!
A mentor throughout this world.
A lady with class, sometimes a material girl.
A flower, and the sound of rain.

I am the color of the rainbow.
I am deeper than the sea.
I am the pink ribbon you wear.
I am delicate like snow.

  I AM!
The sun and the moon in your eyes.
A twister during dark skies.

  I AM!
The Daughter of Eve-

And, here is the only feeling I want to endorse.
 Summer's Eve.

*****
In honor and appreciation to all the women of the world.
Happy Mother’s day!

The Maltese Moon,
she draws my eyes
to shapely orb
in starlit sky
she smiles at me
with wanton grace
and spills desire
upon my face
I'm all awash
in milky glow
sacred secrets
Mine to know...

the Maltese Breeze
he flirts with me
can't let me be
his fingers trace
my rounded face
my hair he twirls
my skirt's a whirl
he has no care
this Maltese Breeze
alone can dare
dishevel me
and set me free

The Maltese Sea
now beckons me
wets my desire
in moon glow fire
that rides the waves
as my heart craves
His liquid arms
and all his charms
This Maltese Sea
so vast so free
is calling me
is calling me....

I close my eyes
as Maltese Air
caresses my lips
in great fanfare
I breath him in
in sheer delight
invigorated
by his might
I pause a while
my life on hold..
my heart, it beats
so brave, so bold

The others, they just
walk on by
and yet I wait
alone, I sigh
Awash in light
of Maltese Moon
the Maltese Breeze
just simply croons
and Maltese Sea
he, murmurs sweet
and I am lost
In Maltese treat

The magic starts to fade away
I start to walk, I cannot stay
They've called me from my reverie
I rush to catch up with the three
but turn for one more blessed glance
at Maltese Moonbeam's fond romance
There's more to me than what they know
more passion than what I can show

The Maltese Moon, she smiles at me
For we have shared sweet ecstasy

I am the diamond
     that breathes
     in your hands;
The fine lace to sway in
     breezes through windows
     as I crumble dedans la pirouette;
The cyclone, the earthquake,
     implosion of power
     in your arms.

          Spin me a room,
          Weave me a rainbow,
          Pull me to you and
          push me away.
          Burn me, absorb me.

I tumble, trip, fall,
     to be lifted by you,
     elevated, levitated;
Finest rags, softest fringe,
     ripple around
     last evening light;
Raise me slowly
     on tiptoes;
Rescue me, scream my name
     loud.

          Spin me your laughter,
          Catch me, don't drop me,
          Pull me to you,
          never push me away.
          Dance, don't stop.

Never stop.

To appreciate our planet
start with its snow capped mountains
where sunbeams morph crystals of ice
into gems of glistening light.

Witness white clouds traverse the skies
floating on a vista of blue
or a setting sun smear scarlet
onto puffs of marshmallow white.

See jungles at its equator
create a sash of vibrant green
and burnt sands ripple its deserts
with shifting dunes of tans and creams.

See its leafy forests change from
deciduous to evergreen
and tundra pitted with blue lakes
fade to stretches of virgin snow.

Watch volcanoes erupt in flame
spewing plumes of ebony smoke
and lava bleed from gaping wounds
while giving birth to molten earth.

See azure and aquamarine
waves crested with white foamy froth
or tilted poles capped in ice
sparkling like crystalline jewels.

View it from afar as it twirls
in the vacuum of space like
a phantasmagorical
cerulean marble, called Earth.

There is a part of me missing
There is a part of me that shall never be
Inside of this dark sad brooding mind
Is the painter who will never see

So I take my pen, and vaso of wine
I contemplate
I get lost in the drunkenness of time
Stooped over my own memories on a sour palette

I had the brushes staring at the naked breast
My paints were frozen, at such beauties unrest
Erect and tall, at her feet I did fall
The blind painter, who lost it all

So now you see I am a poet of some seedy sort
Painting Braille, is poetry of my last resort
I write down words with the flourish of my pen
The Braille poet, cause painting I could not fend

I take words and wish them bountiful explosive colors
If only I had talent, a painter and not a story teller
So for me, in pain and clad in the cloth of sadness
I write words, for this painter has only Braille

I have no painting brushes
I possess no smile, wandering along on wistful miles
Of blindness, blowing in the winds of the frail
No map for the future, and yet I set sail

Hoping my words one day will be seen
By an artist who paints the soul and the serene
She takes my blindness and paints boldly my dreams
Taking my words, from Braille to bright pastel creams

Bha e brèagha an-de
(It was Beautiful Yesterday)

There was a sailing vessel
With many a sail proudly lapping in the wind
A flag of the Celtic honor, in ruin an rented
As all the sailors sing
Of my love for you
From long ago
Before death became our friend
Oh would I be sailing from stormy seas to the Scottish glens
To lay some flowers at your side
Your beauty is now far under
My love ill wait for all eternity
For loves resurrection’s stormy thunder
Our bodies may be under stone
Our memories long lost in tales and fable
Let no man ever lay any such claim
Our love was not the gift of briny seaworthy fame

We be only stones, in a meadow blue
When you come upon our fate
Tiss with this verse, I state my case
The life that escaped our sadly date
Love though was true as sky
For long ago, she bid adieu
Her sadness at my drowning departure
As I her lover was told to be
Buried deep and under sea

Both sadness and the tossing waves
Took the life out of her and me
So when you look at fading stones
Remember the love that used to be

Rhythmic tones form a most beautiful symphony of love
A shining star as nature's splendor reflects Heaven’s light
It’s my destiny to learn a passion and purpose to use now
Even for a moment, I would not change for you’re my love
And love is a blessing, an eternal gift that keeps on giving
Take your wish, shattered dreams—leave this world behind
And we shall seek and find a togetherness with lullabies pure
For each new emotion my heart shall always find you dearest

Sending warm golden stirring echoes dancing into your dreams
Softly lips whispering so gently in the air as a loving tune sings
As the warm sun lights up our footsteps treading on golden sands
Perfect maiden you’re the siren ringing bells for midnight chimes
True precious bride inside the heart you have keys to all the doors
Walk with me hand in hand as the soul breathes and butterflies sigh
Ocean waves crash—kissing salt of the earth as windows flutter free
Safely sitting on the throne as the crown graces a fair maiden queen

Our special music reflects the precious nature of our love dearest
As we share enchanted moments with each other so real and pure
When I take your hand in mine, I feel the magic warmth of passion
When I gaze into your eyes, I sense the depth of our love forever
The delight I share with you dear one defies all human description
And so my love—enjoy the oneness we share as two souls together
As we bask in God’s own heavenly light and music in His Universe
Our hearts unite as one in forming a most beautiful symphony of love

Under your heavenly gaze magic appears perfect
a thousand whispers sail through the oceans current
each wave warmly echoes of a sun filled promise
Our time is held when precious jewels they glimmer
every breath gasps breathless holding dearest soul
where the silken ribbons circle around a gift tied
wrapped within angel rays floating inside heartbeats

When I was just a little girl I painted soaring seagulls in a dawning sky of duck-egg blue I painted ladybirds and whimsical butterflies A red cottage with square-shaped windows A misty mountain with a purple hue. All my fields were evergreen with flowers falling like confetti in between. A rising sun in molten gold so bright with shifting leaves along a riverside. I painted mushrooms covering faries Unicorns, princesses and queens Happy trolls and Naughty elves riding on watercoloured bees. As such was life, Carefree As beautiful as dreams. Years rolled on, trees turned old Vibrant colours became the past in an hourglass. All shadows now, are black as night All that is left are sepia shades dim as the gloom of a Winter day. But little child out there, Listen to me.. Never let clouds cover your soul with ash -of-grey Like candyfloss, clouds might seem huge But they're made of fluff...Blow them away. Blow them away before it rains Yet if rain pours its heavy drops and gusty winds whirl from strong storms Never give up! Lilt up your head, seek with those eyes In every journey a rainbow hides Just keep on searching, do not be blind Leave all your troubles way back behind. All shadows now, are black as night All that are left are Sepia shades dim as the gloom of a Winter day But now and then a spell's bestowed upon my name With an old brush and childhood colours I paint an orchard with sugar-maples and fragrant blossoms blooming in May.

*GRANDMA WAITS IN THE GARDEN*

Hi, grandpa, it's me again!
Your dentures sit in an open glass above the nightstand
Remember the tears grandma sang before she passed?
The way she looked into your eyes,
Moments before she said her goodbyes
Grandpa, I found a note from grandma,
She waits for you.

Hi grandpa, it’s me again!
The rocking chair is old and dusty
Remember the way grandma sat me on her lap?
Read many stories before I took a nap
How she enjoyed stroking my hair with her hands
I miss the way she rocked me to sleep every night

Hello, grandpa!
I stored your hearing aid away
Remember that special musical box in grandma's drawer?
I opened it last night, to watch the ballerina soar
I wish you could hear the tiny chimes grandma loved
I hope you don’t mind, I’m keeping grandma's favorite scarf

Hello, Grandpa!
I'm caressing grandma’s picture frame
Remember the way she looked in the yellow pretty sundress?
Grandpa, I miss the things grandmother did for you
Like the walking cane, she handcrafted before she left

Hello, grandpa, it's me again!
Here I sit holding your hand
I have no more tears
Soon you will see her again
She will no longer be alone
Say hi to her, give her a kiss
Tell her I miss her so much
Bye, grandpa

Dead Winter Stray~ By: Poet Destroyer

Nearby paces, Combatants lost under the cemetery walls,
“Blessed Men and Heavenly Remedy Women of Ages,”
Feelings of dance at the beginning of nightfall,
Scenery of fire, sadness passing this history page,
In that distant curve, somewhere nears the sundown stream.
Far away from the vision of mortal eyes,
A child plays as beautiful and pale like the sunrise.
She plays on the coast this beautiful but pale, sun raised child.
Pursuing nature, in a hushed angelic lucidity,
“In hushed angelic lucidity!”
Fragile fastened, to those adequate bones.
Profound deepness beneath the snow winder dust,
Below the memoirs of her floating vessel,
Reminisces of water drowning down rivers and streams,
A shattered female kneels in salvation.
An anvil so heavy it troubles the mind.
Lost in profoundness, in what might have been.
What was, for a moment in this period?
The grimness of her weak vessel dwells.
A lifeless winter strays around.
An album so old and dusty,
A christening gown not ever embraced.
Infinite, the woman and pale child of sunrise,
Soften footfalls beating out the torments.
Countless nights seeing the day of unspoken headstones,
Feelings of dance will never rest this heartache.
Eternity, in a dance of unconditional need,
Their hearts unite as one...
A closing of mother and child…

Dead Winter~ By: Catie Lindsey

There walks Warriors in that graveyard,
Holy Men and Medicine Women of ages;
at night you can see their Spirits dance,
setting fire to history's pages.
In that far corner, up by the stream,
far from the eyes of publicity,
she plays on the shore, beautiful Raylene,
catching poly-wogs, in silent lucidity.
In silent lucidity.
Brittle now, those fine bones,
deep beneath the snow drifts of winter,
beneath the memories of her body afloat
down rivers and streams of Remember.
A broken woman kneels in prayer,
a heavy weight on a burdened mind,
somewhere deep in what could have been,
what was, for a moment in time.
The grayness of her frail body lingers,
in a dead winter of the unborn,
on page forty-nine in the family album,
in a baptismal gown never worn.
Together they dance, the woman and the child,
their soft footfalls pounding out the sorrows
of many days at a worn out headstone,
many dances to come, many tomorrows.
Together they dance, The Woman's Dance,
their hearts as one...
the woman and the child.

Dear mother nature you're supposed
to make the world a good place to be in
Today the sky had hues of orange

Life begins every day when the sun arises
Mixed with the fire's toast
drinking of daylight

Nature's wonderful respect for darkness
A moon shared the sky
And you will never feel disappointed

To be born again off you
with the sun setting
Dipping down golden over mountains
Like a soul lost awaiting to be found

A slim narrow smile pearly shines
Awaiting with anticipation
Night closing in as twilight holds a dream
The master's at work
the divinity of a deity
Whispers of a breeze through fir trees
Rusting branches sway dancing freely
Surely created a deep impression inside me

Life begins every day
when the sun takes center stage
A sharp cutting breath hits home
Diamond cutting thoughts invade
Sailing away into another world

The moon and the stars come out in full force
Sharing a daydream as the night closes in
Your eyes carry the sun peaking through the clouds
Destiny living and breathing the same air
Until bliss becomes your daily drink

VINEYARDS of HAPPINESS --------------------- GARDEN of SORROW

There is no greater Happiness,-----------when-----------Pulling away sorrow
then being in my lover's arms,-------letting go of----Broken memories
Kissed by his hungry lips,-------------------------------Rejecting all hunger, of love
spoiled by his sweetest charms.-----------------------The surface spoiled look in his face

There is no greater Happiness,------------------------Holding the depth of solitary sorrow
feeling my love's warm embrace,-----------------------Feelings of cold,no emotions on Gods grace
Meeting in our secret GARDEN,-----------------------Prolonging the visit to our VINEYARD
Opening dreams' golden gates.------------------------the door you open leads into dark woods

There is no greater Happiness,-------------------------Reviving every motion of sorrow
and there 'll never be ,for me,----------------------------trapped forever inside of me
till that far promised day,------------------------------------Broken promises day by day
My Honey love s' here with me.------------------------a wound so fresh, damaged like a twig

            HAPPINESS -------------------------to-------------------- SADNESS

Happiness to me,is as easy as can be,----------------Sadness triumphs over anything in me
a doughnut,a cup of English Tetley tea.------some nights----------A bucket of ice cream,a bottle of Jack Daniel
Lying on my beige leather sofa,------------some days-------------Slouching up against the wall
Covered by a Woolen red tartan rug,------------- tears fallen like a red river on the carpet
Hugging and Kissing,Fondling and snogging,--- some mornings ---Crying and Weeping,Wiping the Sobbing
Just watching T.V.------------------------------------------Just imaging you

         THE  ROSE===============================WITHER

Love is a Pink Rose,--------------------------------------------A rose in the dark woods
with a crown of thick Grey thorns,--------------------------Like a cloud following you
delicate and strong.-----------------------------------------------Tilting till its gone

I am a character
In search of my author
Walking great distances in a circle
Wishing for a plot
Wanting a destination
Perhaps a soliloquy
Please fill my lips with your words

If you wish I will play the fool
You be my King
I am yours to rule

For too long
I have been without a script
From a confused heart my thoughts have dripped
Within your story I wish to be gripped

The Author of me
From whom I have roamed
Through your scriptures I will comb
Till I learn the lines that lead me home
As I study please capture my mind
Till within my spirit we are intertwined
Light from light no longer blind

You are the beginning and completion of me
Apart from you I cease to be
Thankyou, Thankyou for helping me see
The part of Your story written for me

open your doors
close all the windows
sleeping's such a bore
suffocate it with pillows

psh, i'm not hellbent
shut your mouth
it's called character development
WOOPS. broke routine again
and the poem's gone south.

made myself out to be the bad guy
so they wouldn't feel as sad when i die
so many
so many damn times you told me
all those uplifting words regarding my significance
did i ever stop to listen?
now look at all this tension

i am the patient
you're the asylum
this heart rate is hesitant
unless you revive them

i'm the addiction and
you are the needle
i'm the mutilation
you're the scars that will heal

i am the stash
and you're the supplier
i am the match and
you are the fire

you are the truth
and i am the dare
you are the daydream
i'm the nightmare

i am the cigarette
you are the lighter
i am the pirouette
you're the choreographer

we all are so sad
we've both lost our thrill
that's just too bad but
we both know the drill

made myself out to be the bad guy

so i wouldn't feel as sad when i die

Angel in the Clouds

Sometimes you look up to the sky
And maybe you can find
In a large bank of clouds
The face and figure of an angel with wings
Who’s looking down on you.

It may be someone
You knew from the past
Who went to Heaven a long time ago.

And maybe that angel appears here now for you
Just to say “Hello”
And to make this moment very special.

You feel an enchantment in your heart
And sense a soft tingling on your cheek . . .

As if a kiss was placed there by this angel
With an encouraging touch on your shoulder
Giving you a wondrously warm feeling inside.

With this magical moment as you’re touched
By this angel . . .

You realize this angel loves you very much
And just came by to look after you
And to send you a joyous blessing
Right from Heaven—personally to you!

Amen.

When a heaven cracks and stars go to sleep
  Morning so incredibly quiet -
A peaceful morning - the sun's rays meet my gaze
I listen to the peace - to its eternal rest - and I think
that this moment must forever be in my heart

My eyes filled with clear and clean blue sky
So beautiful quiet morning - a fjord bright as a mirror
  . . . I'm missing my words
  Happiness rustling through the blood
  and awakens my senses
I float among the clouds and angels
picks diamonds like they were candy
The sun glows in all its glory
The words are no longer in my power

 Extreme Sunset

Brimstones past the clouds
Highlight against the ocean line
Beautiful sunset, warm texture
Warning, the rooster's asleep!

Glorious yellow and orange mixture
My source of great inspiration
Unmatch - beauty mark In the sky
The horizon is ready for nightfall

Behind those beautiful eyes,
So much anger,so much mistrust,
Always expecting the worst,
Always conversing about the bad
things life has to offer,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
So much hurt,so much pain,
Bottled up bad experiences overflowing,
Crying to be unleashed,to be released,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
High expectation,countless plans,
Many things to still achieve,
So many things you still haven't done,

Behind those beautiful eyes,
Is a body,searching for comfort,
A mind,searching for peace,
And a heart searching for true love,

All behind those beautiful eyes.....

Awake... my first breath in the quiet of an April dawn
becomes a halted gasp, caught and hung in mid air
A warm, silent smile deepens as eyes are drawn
toward the distant horizon where the face of the sun rising
Veiled by misty, morning dew spreads its warmth through
dense morning haze across skies perfectly inked in gold
and raspberry hues, making a promise of a beautiful day.
