Just a Girl

Just a girl in a room, sitting on the floor,
I can see her in this window, but I see no door
Crying her song of anguish, of this unspeakable pain,
Has every intention never to feel it again
I rock, I tremble, my life is at cost
All I know is this shell, for it's myself...my core...my all I have lost

From the start I new this fight could only last so long,
I aimed to defeat it, striving to remain strong
Each day in and day out, facing the demon, fighting the doubt
At a moment with no warning, without any clue
I was losing my strength...my energy...all the will I once knew

For now, my all is lost, my memories are faint,
There is no pretty picture left for me to paint
This girl on the floor, in this empty room
Was this girl condemned for a life of doom

My tears disappeared, like they'd never been there
Dried up with my soul, the time is clear
Wanting to shake her, make her open her eyes
To show some hope, the blue is still in the skies

Then, out of nowhere, I found the door
I wanted to save the girl on the floor
As I neared and inched to her close
She wasn't that girl, what I saw was a ghost

As I turned to walk out, stopped by a noise
I heard the laughter of girls and of boys
With that came a voice of peace and of grace
She told me, she's happy, no-more demon for her to face

I am calmed, I'm reassured, I'm no longer in pain
She was the broken me, but now I am strong again

My Sweet Girl

On a lonely night at 11 pm, a bored boy tried social networking again He wrote on his wall, he played some games, and he checked his online friends for some familiar names There it was all alone, a girl who was lonely too, what could come of this? Who knows? A message sent to her and one was sent back A few more messages and we were on the right track A movie date first, a sledding date after, Valentine’s Day night was filled with hugs and laughter Then under the moon light, she looked into my eyes, her giggle made me smile and a kiss sealed the night This girl is my girlfriend my perfect other half, she can fix all my problems with only a laugh Her eyes are like gems, her smile is art, and she is not just pretty she is also so smart You are the best, and that won’t change when you read this I hope you don’t think I am strange

Ode To The Dreamy Girl

People turn to her and say, "Why are you like this? Like a girl of modern day, Dress up a bit, miss. Don't sit with books all day long, There's a world outside, you know, These fairy tales won't help you Live. Life's not a dreamy song. You'll see beyond the rainbow Some day - those dark gruesome hues." She would smile at them and tell, "I'm better off here, With my books in my snug shell, Life can't be severe." Once they left, she'd sit and cry, Why would they not let her be? Could she not have her own dreams? Should she answer their each why? Would they not let her shine free, Like those distant white moonbeams? They who judged her by her looks, Did they know her pain? She was hiding in her books From abusive strain; Divorced parents did not care, Grandma blamed her for their split, Beat her up, locked in a room; Was it wrong for her to dare To read and dream of what's writ? To set her mind free from gloom? 07/27/17

Ode to Mi Corazon

As I pull weeds from cracks in sidewalks
Yout sit on top of thrones made of solid gold
And I pay no mind to the women around me,
Only to your beauty do I hold an Ode.

I see my fair Spanish lady
my daring, sweet rose with thorns,
That run up and down her spine.
As she stops in the daily parade
Waving at the peasants,
She looks at me and summons her guards
Too take me away.

Her beauty is unbearable.
I cannot take not being with her
For a single moment in my life.
Her hair,
Black like coal,
Her smile is bright, as the first rays of the Red Sun
In the dawn.
Her lips painted with ruby lipstick,
her silk laced dress and shawl wrap around her,
Like a beautiful butterfly in her cocoon.
Her skin of olive, dark color and her green eyes.
My God, those sweet and piercing green eyes
Oh, how they hit my soul and make me shiver with excitment.
She is intoxicating and I am intoxicated in her beauty.

She is like an angel, a Latina beauty who walks the streets paved gold,
As I walk the cracked, cobblestone walkways.
She shines in the Spanish sun, like a dimoand in the ruff
As you blow the dust off her sweet brow,
she glows and sparkles with extordinary excellence.

She is beautiful and sweet and kind.
She loves me, but her father minds.
I am only a peasant, and she royalty.
Can our love ever be together in one holy matrimony?
I pray to the Lord, of all that is good,
Please give me a sign that she loves me.

Soon a storm came over,
blowing me down to the ground
And a cloud of dust swallowed me whole.
A great Conquistador on a great white stallion
pulled me up and told me that she wanted to see me.
I shacked with nervous of joy as I followed the warrior.

She was there, under a palm tree
Near a beautiful beach in Barcelona.
She smiled and a glow covered me with passion.
I hugged her and kissed her upon her sweet lips.
I tasted virginity and she tasted loyalty.
We both tasted beauty and harmony.
As the warrior left us,
We made love upon a vigin white sheet,
Soon covered with a flowing river of red.
She moaned with exticy and love was in the air.
The Ode to my sweet Spaniad, Mi Corazon!

We lay there in each others arms
Looking up at a clear night sky
The twilight glimmered ever so softly
And a shooting star blazed across the sky
I kissed her and she kissed me.
I whispered in her, "My love forever"
And she pushed me back upon the sheets
and we made sweet and ever lasting love again.
As we looked in each other's almond colored eyes.
I said to her, in a soft voice, Mi Corazon.

First Love

First Love

Her eyes showed me a way,
Her unique smile let my tears go away,
Her Beautiful face made me to say,
Is this Love, or what???

Started to have feeling of love,
Started to behave nicely and different,
Started to smile when there was no reason to smile,
Still, Is this Love, or what??

Tried to approach her, but felt belittled, lowly, shy,
Tried to ask her for date, but felt afraid, scared, shocked,
Tried to express my love, felt would be rejected, hurt, unheard,
Well still, Is this love, or what?

I can fix anything, why not this thing,
I can talk to any girl, why not this girl,
I can really convince anyone, why not this one,
Came before many girl, why not this girl.

Do please not tell me its just nothing,
Do tell me how to do something about this thing...Love,
Do tell me anything about this thing…Love,
Will there be rejection or appreciation??????????

An Ode To My Beloved

I just wanted to let you know
That I have this love for you...
Although I'm not fast to show
For you, there's nothing I wouldn't do
And I can't control this love
No matter what I try to do...

While I know our lives are separating
Which has got me pretty blue
I just want you to know
How much I love you...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

Oh how I still see you every night in my mind
You're the best girl I feel I'll ever find
And when my eyes would fall upon your smile
My heart would be put on trial
And so if nothing else, I want to let you know
That I'll always love you, that my hearts beat
For you, won't ever slow...

Because I was blinded by shyness
And now my heart's feeling rugged
So this here's An Ode To My Beloved

So I wish you happiness beyond compare
And sorry for the times I couldn't help but stare
Caring, passionate, smart, and loving
From my heart, to you, I'll never be shoving

You will always be in my heart
No matter where we go, how far we drift apart...

Goodbye My Love...

Daydream Love

You are simply a work of art.
I’ve known it from the very start,
But you won’t find me hittin’ on ya.

For I’m just an old guy
With a twinkle in his eye;
Happy just to gaze upon ya.

My old heart quickens it pace
Each time I see your pretty face,
A face that every man should see.

Sometimes, just for a while,
Each time I see you smile,
I imagine it's just for me.

And, when I hear your voice,
For just a moment, I rejoice.
Yes, it’s music to these old ears.

But more than a work of art,
You’re warm and funny and smart.
Simply a beautiful person, my dear.

Though with you I’m quite smitten,
My words are respectfully written;
And every word is true.

But, if I weren’t so old,
If I were better looking and a little bold,
I would simply say, “I love you.”

Ode To 'That' Girl

She smiles like nothing’s wrong
And pretends her sorrows would end soon
She laughs like there’s no tomorrow
Never minding life’s unpleasant blows
Yeah, she’s no different from you
She’s no robot, she has a heart too
But she will never bother you with her sadness
She cries inside while deceiving you with her ‘happiness’
You think she doesn’t grieve but she actually does
She does it in discreet as quietly as she must
Either to give you the impression that she’s strong
Or just so you won’t worry and ask her ‘what’s wrong?’
Yeah, she’s the one who easily laughs at small things
The one who comforts you when you’re down and hurting
Yes, the vibrant bubbly girl that you’ve always known
Is the same girl who cries a lot in silence when she’s all alone.

This is dedicated to my friend Karenjoy D. Viloan.

CHUBBY LITTLE GIRL: Ode to Bria Samone

I love her joyful smile, her hair in
A plump round face with chocolate
on her nose,
for she's her mamas' chubby little

What better gift for me in all the
wrapped in pink with lace and
purple bows?
I love her joyful smile, her hair in

Brown stains caress her mouth in
one great swirl,
with a drop or two I saw upon her
For she's her mamas' chubby little

"I made a cake for you" she says,
the whirls
around the room before she strikes
a pose.
I love her joyful smile, her hair in

"A cake for me?" I ask the precious
I touch her sticky face and spotted
She'll always be my chubby baby

Hand in hand around the room we
when we stop, I laugh and pull her
I love her joyful smile, her hair in
For she's her mamas' chubby little

Birthday Girl, Heart Throb Swirl -

She is many things,
like what Spring brings to shivering wings,
creatures like us sing from her touch, fly to her much,
feeding from the everlasting song her beauty transmits,
Linda's face is always strong, sage, and sensuous
as a symbol of liberty that says to the fatigued free thinker
you have more to achieve, to believe,
don't rest until you've won, trust in now,
PD. is the perfect noun with the most,

unwise to show envy towards her
for she has earned all her roses & garlands
knows suffering more than most, throws inspiration to those in need
like a pelican weeps and swoons
in the blood of self sacrafice, loving us, telling us we're the fuss,
she'll cry with you and then shock One into strength,
slam boom bam you if you fail to admire her Divine Genius,
teaching by taking the first step,
I love Linda because she is the greatest I know,
the sweetest and the wisest in the show,
her feather teaches me, her heart reaches me,
Linda is my Sphinx,
giving heavenly links, expelling my jinx -

This write is dedicated to Linda, aka. Poet Destroyer, my Sphinx
for her birthday - she is ageless, and her life is a gift to me -
with love & respect - J.A.B.

An ode to the most beautiful girl on the planet

Who is that babe?
Who is that fox?
Who is that prettiest girl I have seen?

Truly beautiful on the inside and out.
Oops, was that too cliche?
I don't want to
scare her away.

I draw near.
And what a surprise!
So does she.

And then I remember.
I am looking into
the bathroom mirror.

Black Girl

Curves to follow for days,
Twists and turns,
Blueprint of a maze.
Full lips, smooth skin,
Sharp tongue, story within,
Black girl.

Contrary to naysayers' tongues.
Soft hands, hard head,
Rough life,
Freedom songs sung,
Black girl.

Eloquent speech
To reach
The minds of stereotypes.
Wisdom to raise the veils
From the blind and offer sight.
Made to nurture, requested to raise,
Attitude ain't so bad, sometimes too brave,
Black girl.

Often standing behind for support,
Hardly in front to define her worth,
Blind love, ebony hair,
Perfect poise, honest heir,
Almond eyes, round nose,
Scarred knees, painted toes,
Black girl.

I Know a Girl Called Rose

I know a girl; her name is Rose.
She has long hair that’s thick and dark,
and sad, green eyes above her nose;
and she can sing just like a lark.

She loves to read, and is well-read:
she’s a genius, and knows a lot—
in truth, there’s so much in her head
to now attempt than just let rot.

Glad to say she’s now a student
enrolled in classes at a college:—
how wonderful, how elegant
that she’s in a place of knowledge!

‘Ere long, she’ll finish with honors
and graduate with distinction
with a master’s conferred upon her
to pursue disease intervention.

In all this time, I’ll support her
and be the best friend that she needs;
I’ll be there just to exhort her
and heal her wounds in case she bleeds.

Girl on a Bicycle at the Fair

spokes of a turning wheel
strung with colored string
strumming fingers playing
plain and turning
turning plain
and simply round and round

colors whirl up and around
up and down
music moving turning sound
rhythm round

swirl of colorful motion
jaunty ribbons of song
bright and shining
shining bright
and lightly up and away

Understanding WE may never physically be ....it continues to be a concept that I often contemplate...a mental picture in my head that I constantly visualize...I keep my DISTANCE...wondering if I'm even worth your time...admiring you from afar as if you were some shining star...*INTRIGUED*....feelings that I've fought in the past...they manifest until finally reaching the surface...*HOPELESS*...I'm unable to subdue what my truly heart desires...what's next?...I don't have an answer...but I feel this moment of clarity is necessary...for sanity's sake...

An Ode To Hyades

Silhouetted my love stood,
With scant disdain to melting drops,
A smile touched her cherubic face,
When Zephyr touched her silky locks,
That kissed her misty eyes.

Up she raised her face,
And drank in the wine of love,
That Hyades had poured into her quivering lips,
Quenching every corner of her heart with love.

Tilting her head softly,
She turned with her doe like eyes,
As if beckoning me,
While she slowly glided nymph like
Into the cloudy drizzle.

The Girl I Love

It seems so long that I must look
Among most girls, their attraction lures
But with this sight my angst does unhook
And my eyes do end their tours
The unpolished cover of your book
To suddenly turn judgment yours

As it is with great surprise
Be my expectations tragic
The cover had deceived my eyes
For these pages are but magic

Alas to Hogwarts I do not go
And to you I am a stranger
So shall I choose a book I know?
For your wonders surpass Hermione Granger

So to Panem I must take flight
As my envy does glow green
And in the Hunger Games shall I fight
For with a fire you tend to glean
I mere Peeta to thy sight
And you Ms. Everdeen

And though I not think it right
To compare the’ to what I hate
But for you I mention slight, the book, Twilight
Within its pages my affection’s fate, for with Jacob they relate

And so for you my Bella Swan
That I must assume a friend
And like Edward seek my presence gone
Loving you until the end.

Set down your book I do so wary
And reference now a great ballet
For in my arms I long to carry
And with great poise dance away
Me, a nutcracker prince, and you my sugar plum fairy.

Letter to her

Let me hold you hand
Let me be the one you never had
Let me speak of true mind
Let me be your every stand
Let me hold your hand
Let it be true in you
As it is true in me
Let it be bell that ring
Our love in hearts
Let me be with you heart
So our life could be know as
Let it be
Hold my hand I shall not dispute
Hold it to your last breath.
Let it be as you wished because
This letter is a vision of our life mission.
Don't let Go
Your truly lover

If dedication ever was
A flood goes out your way
If time could stop just because
I'd wish the while to stay

More grand than any setting sun
Surpassing any sight
More dear to me than anyone
A circle of delight

Of mothers and of sisters
Of daughters and of theirs
Of cousins, aunts and nieces
The mother of my heirs

And those of you who volunteered
By marriage or divorce
A special dedication
Goes out to you, of course

Legitimate or otherwise
Once or twice removed
Abandoned or misguided
Or otherwise behooved

If someone else decided
To turn you into kin
You might as well face it
You're in the game to win

Ode To The Girl Child - in 4 parts

There are more gruesome...,
acts of patriarchy.
Devised to Subjugate, the girl child.
Men, so cunningly....,
planned, in the dark of the ages.

The devil; if he exists, would envy.
And perhaps, shrivel away in shame.
And never cease to exist.

But, who created the devil..?
Another, pigment of imagination of mankind.
A mole to infiltrate, the Humane mind.
And keep the subjects,
infected, in fear; of reprisal.

You have come, a long way my Sweetheart.
Because, if you are reading this poem.
You consider, yourself well emancipated.
There was time in history.
When you would have been,
crucified or burnt, alive in the stake...???
Because you have committed,
An unholy and evil act.

You have learnt to read and write.
And liberated your self.
And men have become very insecure.

You got a very long way to go baby.
The choice is in your hands.
UNSHACKLE, your mind from yourself.
There's a host of virus
In your HD.

"THE GIRL WHO : JUST PUSHED PLAY"(ode to Aerosmith music)

Well, this giddy little girl was tired of the SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE; she said I gotta get
rid of the MONKEY ON MY BACK, and find someone to TAKE ME TO THE OTHERSIDE...where
So, as she started on her PERMANENT VACATION the idea was to KISS HER PAST

The LAST CHILD of a bunch counting five, she had to do WHAT IT TAKES to stay alive...So
with just a LICK AND A PROMISE and her LIGHT INSIDE she WALKED ON DOWN with a
She came upon a BLIND MAN they call UNCLE SALTY who saw her CRYIN and said I'll show
you the way to your MAMA KIN... as they traveled on she began to CHIP AWAY THE

Finally arriving to find MOTHER POPCORN who blessed her with this sound advice:
Take the long path my JADED one, past the HANGMAN JURY and down to the FARM...WALK
ON WATER and realize that there is NO SUPRISE... though there may be RATS IN THE
CELLAR there is always CHEESE CAKE in your eyes.

I Am Missing My Baby Girl

Everyday I awake to the softness of the sun rays, shining brightly through my window
panes, I wonder to myself as I wipe the sleep away, from my eyes, before I get on my
knees to pray. I bow my head and close my eyes, to speak the words that comes from my
hearts, forming into sentences that goes up toward the skies,
Lord hear me now for I am about to cry,
I am missing my baby girl,Lord I am so tired,
I am missing my baby girl, Lord help me I am feeling a little wired,
I am missing my baby girl, Lord my soul feels like it's on fire.

I feel her soul passing through these rooms, giving life to every flower as I watch them
bloom, I smell her scent past through these walls, like a fire leaving behind it's
fumes,I see her smiling as if she were in front of me, listening to me, clapping for me,
as I sing the blues.

I am missing my baby girl Lord, and I don't know what to do,

I am missing my baby girl, Lord I am so confused,

Heavenly father help me, clear my mind so I can just get through,

these terrible times as I lie hear listening to this priest read from the obituary at my

ten year old's funeral.

Lord I am missing my baby girl, oh Lord I need you

so please, please, hear my prays to help me make it through.

Little Girl/ Little Boy

Little girl (Little boy), so small and insecure, whose world has crumbled in, and when it
rains it pours.
Little girl (Little boy), you were never able to bloom, so your world seems so dark, and
full of gloom.
Little girl (Little boy), you've been so hurt and abused, always reaching out for help,
but it always seems you're refused.
Little girl (Little boy), it's all right... Please cry, scream and shout, but don't give
up the fight.
Little girl (Little boy), we're here to help you now. You are ready to live, and we're
going to show you how.
Little girl (Little boy), you should be so proud! You have come out of your shell and have
mingled with the crowd.
Little girl (Little boy), you're doing great, even though there are a lot of unresolved
issues on your plate.
Little girl (Little boy), it's okay, because we're all here to help you get through it,
day by day.
Little girl (Little boy), you are starting to grow, and soon it will be your time to go.
Little girl (Little boy), do not fear, because we'll still always be here.
Little girl (Little boy), you are no more...
Beautiful woman (Handsome man) now, so confident and strong, ready to go begin a new
journey, with our love and support, to guide you along.

Ode To The Girl Child - in 4 parts

Its not you fault, don't be sorry.
Paradox of creation...
A most misconceived,
divine beauty, etched in pain.

The pain that you experience,
is a mistake of creation.

If I had my way...?
I would have divided, the burden.
Why should you alone.., bear the heft.

I would have gifted, the male child;
half of your pain.

Just like, how two instruments.
Mingle, to produce a piece,
of wonderful music.

So whenever she gracefully,
experiences, the jagged, cycle of life.
Her partner should also be humbled.

There is no rhyme or reason,
for this kind of discrimination.
He should have taken my advice.

Ode to the Small Girl

She is indeed small,
But remember the cliche about terrible?
Terrible because she's a student and a mom,
Though sometimes she explodes like a bomb.

She is a student full of responsibility,
Equipped with different personality.
Walking with not almost five feet tall,
But surely she got it all.

She's indeed a mom,
But remember she's a teacher to come?
Teacher for part time, mom for full time.
Though sometimes it's hard to rhyme.

She's a girl who is like a riddle,
A warrior to not belittle.
Striving with passion and dream.
And it can all be seen.

Ode To The Girl Child- in 4 parts

You have, a long way my dear.
And a much longer,
journey awaits you.

There was a time, in history.
During this period of grace.
She was condidered, so impure.
And not allowed to enter
Hallowed places.

Even the living spaces.
Because man decreed, that,
God considered...!
his own creation sacrilege...?????

At times; she....,
because of this stigma.
If an untoward evil should happen.
Be considered the reason,
for such an event.
Was burnt alive in the stake...
because she was the curse of the Gods...!

A sacrifice,
to appease the creator....!
who cursed his own creation...?

This is just a pigment of history.
Just one turn, one view.
Through the kaleidoscope, of life.
Tribulations, of our beautiful girl child.

Ode To Jamie

I'd never know the joy, they said
To hold, and kiss, and nurture.
But all too soon we did find out
That God had planned my future.

That beautiful baby girl I had
Came to my life a' crying.
She brought so much love to us
To her there was no denying.

The terrible two's, the trying teens,
The years passed by so fast.
I knew she'd grow up, and pull away
Her dependency wouldn't last.

So as I placed her hand in yours,
you quietly changed her name.
My little girl grew up that day.
My life won't be the same.

She'll always be my baby.
Thank God for blessing me.
Although we share her love, you see
She saves big hugs for me.
